Collins Spanish with Paul Noble combines an exciting, new, non-traditional approach to language learning with the easy, relaxed appeal of an audio-only product. No books. No rote memorisation. No chance of failure.
Paul Noble is a genius with a higher IQ than Einstein. Despite this, he still struggled with language learning at school. He found himself feeling 'confused, incapable, and unable to really say anything'. As a result of his negative early experiences, Paul has come up with a ground-breaking new method of language teaching that removes the need for months of studying. With Paul Noble, everyone really can speak a language.
Part 1 of the course covers:
Two native-speaking Spanish experts help Paul to deliver the course and to perfect your pronunciation. No complicated grammatical explanations, no rote memorisation, no writing - no stress. Learn over 6,000 words in no time at all and - most importantly - learn how to make your new vocabulary work for you. (Use the accompanying booklet as a reference and revision tool.)

I loved it I learned how to speak Spanish while walking my dog! I practice at my work and people cannot believe my progress I can't believe my progress! I plan on buying the remainder of the series.
A very good build up on the way the language was taught in pieces or small chunks and then you could build your sentences however many of the words were more if you're going to visit a location versus converse with somebody at home looking forward to the second edition
I am finishings the last book now and I wish there were more because I really feel like the rhythm and pace worked well with my commuting learning. But I am happy with what practice I have gotten from these books.
This system definitely works for me and feels like the best way to learning Spanish. I only wish it contained more, was longer, as one credit for one cd/book of 4 hours is not much. But alright, definitely worth it! :)
I haven't read the print version, but by its nature, the audio version is necessary. I believe any print media is part of the CD set if it were to be purchased separately. I'm a visual learner but the way this course is laid out, there is no disadvantage that there aren't visual materials. I'm seriously impressed. I've taken a couple of years of Spanish in college, gone to in-country schools for one and two weeks, tried different programs on CD, etc, and have now just discovered this after having been in Chile for 7 weeks. I'm learning and understanding things that have eluded me, and this is only the first day. This is simple, logical, and effective. It's a good program.
Beside this book, I have listened to the "Spanish for the busy traveler) and I'm listening now to the "Coffee break Spanish" which is a radio podcast dedicated to learning many languages, Spanish included. I found that Noble's approach is both effective as well as easy to grasp. a strong point in this audio is that it teaches you both Spain Spanish and Latin Spanish without compromising your time or understanding of the main concepts of the language. by the time i finished the course (4 parts), I developed the ability to have various communications in Spanish as well as hundreds of vocabulary words. You wont be fluent merely by listening to this audio, but it will give a great start do be.
"Great way of learning."
Plenty of positive reinforcement every lesson
Would highly recommend it
I am looking forward to putting it into practice for real
"Great programme for learning Spanish naturally."
Yes of course, you need to hear the pronunciations and reading languages can be very boring and therefore easy to disengage.
The whole thing is brilliant. I already speak basic Spanish so not only did I learn new things but I was able to appreciate his teaching technique as being very clever and an intuitive way to teach and learn a new language.
Yes, they are all of a similar excellent quality!
Yes, I listen to it while I work and find that I absorb the information naturally after than forcing it.
I would highly recommend this course and any others by Paul Noble. He is a clever man and obviously knows how to teach Spanish to those who always felt they were terrible at languages! What a breakthrough.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn a bit of Spanish.
I liked the two native speakers as well as Paul Noble himself. He cleverly invites a European Spanish speaker AND a South American Spanish speaker and they speak one after the other each phrase so you can tell the difference.
He speaks extraordinarily clearly and carefully. His voice does not rasp or grate in any way.
You can leave it playing while you do chores, or on headset while you're out and about. You do zone out sometimes but he brings things around full circle and you know you can replay it later so it's fine.
Before I bought this I read a review that complained that Paul had recycled some material from another course. He has but I haven't remembered EVERYTHING from that course yet AND I do forget it. There is more material on this and I fear I will never learn it all.
I've been listening to this in the car while I commute to work and it's really going in! Brilliant stuff, and the explanations are very clear.
