Collins Spanish with Paul Noble combines an exciting, new, non-traditional approach to language learning with the easy, relaxed appeal of an audio-only product. No books. No rote memorisation. No chance of failure.
Paul Noble is a genius with a higher IQ than Einstein. Despite this, he still struggled with language learning at school. As a result of his negative early experiences, Paul has come up with a ground-breaking new method of language teaching that removes the need for months of studying. With Paul Noble, everyone really can speak a language.
Part 1 of the course covers:

I am a beginner in Spanish, but Paul has done very well in teaching Spanish 1 via this audiobook. I am finishing up today and feel confident with 90% of the book's phrases and vocabulary. I may have to listen to the last chapter again, to deliberately answer perfectly every question, but Paul actually discourages perfection during the books introduction. He states it is his job to make us remember, and actually does quite well in doing so. All in all I took away a lot of Spanish from this book and definitely recommend using it with other resources.
I am going to try the next book from Paul, Spanish 2 and hope for the same results (or better)!
Great for long car rides! Doesn't get caught up in the nitty gritty of Spanish, but explains what is necessary and builds as you progress. All while retaining what you've learned!
Uses standard scenarios for traveling in a foreign country, so it's practical as well.
Yes, very much so, but the printed pdf helps tremendously afterwards to recap.
Paul himself is great and is very much a part of the story.
No favorites, they are all quite good.
The narrative is warm, friendly, paced just right and is a joy to listen to. I only wish Paul would carry the series further and do more such books, perhaps to do with general conversation instead of travel/tourism related. Also, it would be tremendously helpful in a future version to have this in the form of an app that runs on your phone/computer like a teleprompter that would spell the words out as they are spoken, making an audible as well as visual connection.
This series really helps you to learn a new language without doing the typical method of memorizing vocabulary and grammar. It helps you to be able to figure out words and form correct sentences. I highly recommend it!
Good introductory audio course, I love how this guy teaches: repetition, but not to much, you learn something new every other minute to keep you engaged, you learn to speak from words you know immediately and not sometime after, conjugations are introduced slowly and not all at once, plus Paul gives some tips and tricks related to word building from English words which is immensely useful, plus it's cheap. Wait no longer, go learn some Spanish!
This is the best language related product I've ever bought. just sit back and relax.
The CD version comes with a booklet so I'm a bit disappointed that audio download does not have a link to download and print that booklet. Other then that I like it.
For context, I've studied Spanish via computer, books, apps, private tutorial, immersion classes and become so utterly dejected (and at times, so acutely frustrated that I've felt a degree of anger) at my inability to pick up the language. It's been a horrid challenge - until now! For her first time, I feel like I am both learning and **retaining** some Spanish. Absolutely thrilled and couldn't recommend Audio Book 1 more highly!
Don't hesitate! Get it! I have loved learning with this method and I recommend it to anyone who has struggled before to learn anything close to a knew language! On to part 2 para me! =D
"excellente for a starter"
I like the repetition by native speakers .. better than ear worms which is insulting and distracting . Ivan hear the words more clearly than other audibles
"Easy to follow and enjoyable"
I have trialled a number of learn Spanish audio and written books and I have found this by far the best.
It's easy to follow, repetitive (a good thing) and the phrases and language learnt will be useful in everyday speech when I go to Spain.
Don't forget that it also comes with an accompanying pdf which you can get from the audible site, though it's not terribly obvious to find and I had to ask the first-rate audible helpline who assisted me admirably
"Great way of learning."
Plenty of positive reinforcement every lesson
Would highly recommend it
I am looking forward to putting it into practice for real
"Great programme for learning Spanish naturally."
Yes of course, you need to hear the pronunciations and reading languages can be very boring and therefore easy to disengage.
The whole thing is brilliant. I already speak basic Spanish so not only did I learn new things but I was able to appreciate his teaching technique as being very clever and an intuitive way to teach and learn a new language.
Yes, they are all of a similar excellent quality!
Yes, I listen to it while I work and find that I absorb the information naturally after than forcing it.
I would highly recommend this course and any others by Paul Noble. He is a clever man and obviously knows how to teach Spanish to those who always felt they were terrible at languages! What a breakthrough.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn a bit of Spanish.
I liked the two native speakers as well as Paul Noble himself. He cleverly invites a European Spanish speaker AND a South American Spanish speaker and they speak one after the other each phrase so you can tell the difference.
He speaks extraordinarily clearly and carefully. His voice does not rasp or grate in any way.
You can leave it playing while you do chores, or on headset while you're out and about. You do zone out sometimes but he brings things around full circle and you know you can replay it later so it's fine.
Before I bought this I read a review that complained that Paul had recycled some material from another course. He has but I haven't remembered EVERYTHING from that course yet AND I do forget it. There is more material on this and I fear I will never learn it all.
I've been listening to this in the car while I commute to work and it's really going in! Brilliant stuff, and the explanations are very clear.
