Publisher's summary

This program includes an introduction read by Michael Wolff, as well as archival recordings of speeches made by Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Donald Trump.

“We won. Won in a landslide. This was a landslide.” (President Donald J. Trump, January 6, 2021)

We all witnessed some of the most shocking and confounding political events of our lifetime: the careening last stage of Donald J. Trump’s reelection campaign, the president’s audacious election challenge, the harrowing mayhem of January 6, the buffoonery of the second impeachment trial. But what was really going on in the inner sanctum of the White House during these calamitous events? What did the president and his dwindling cadre of loyalists actually believe? And what were they planning?

Michael Wolff pulled back the curtain on the Trump presidency with his number one best-selling blockbuster Fire and Fury. Now, in Landslide, he closes the door on the presidency with a final, astonishingly candid account.

Wolff embedded himself in the White House in 2017 and gave us a vivid picture of the chaos that had descended on Washington. Almost four years later, Wolff finds the Oval Office even more chaotic and bizarre, a kind of Star Wars bar scene. At all times of the day, Trump, behind the Resolute desk, is surrounded by schemers and unqualified sycophants who spoon-feed him the “alternative facts” he hungers to hear - about COVID-19, Black Lives Matter protests, and, most of all, his chance of winning reelection. Once again, Wolff has gotten top-level access and takes us front row as Trump’s circle of plotters whittles down to the most enabling and the president reaches beyond the bounds of democracy as he entertains the idea of martial law and balks at calling off the insurrectionist mob that threatens the institution of democracy itself.

As the Trump presidency’s hold over the country spiraled out of control, an untold and human account of desperation, duplicity, and delusion was unfolding within the West Wing. Landslide is that story as only Michael Wolff can tell it.

A Macmillan Audio production from Henry Holt and Company

“First there was Fire and Fury, then there was Siege, now there is Landslide. The third is the best of the three, and that is saying plenty.” (The Guardian)

“Two new books about the final year of Donald J. Trump’s presidency are entering the cultural bloodstream. The first, Landslide, by the gadfly journalist Michael Wolff, is the one to leap upon.... Landslide is a smart, vivid and intrepid book. He has great instincts. I read it in two or three sittings. It’s the book that this era and this subject probably deserve.” (Dwight Garner, The New York Times)

Best of the 3 Trump books! Loved it!

This book is scary as hell. I knew it as bad, but nothing prepares you for the chaos and ineptness of the Trump administration, or lack of thereof.
Narrator does an excellent job. Worth the credit. Enjoy!

Almost Fiction

We knew much of this stuff…but when strung together and using the glue of Wolff’s inside stories and background sourcing the Trump Shitshow appears like an even crazier version of House of Cards…at times the Trump Admin. incompetence feels “unreal” simply too insane to be true…yet hundreds of thousands of dead Americans bear silent witness to the factual basis of Wolff’s writing.

Scary but fascinating

The story grabbed my attention from the first word and I stayed up all night listening. It’s unbelievable that we came so close to losing our democracy. A must read for everyone no matter what your political perspective. We need to make sure this never happens again!

Fascinating

I have read all three of Wolff’s books on Trump and Landslide did not disappoint. Fantastic insiders view of a tumultuous time in our country. Great narration.

Fascinating

This was a truly fascinating book I followed the last four years and there’s always new bits of information that Wolfe provides. It is an interesting juxtaposition how wolf speaks of people talking about how they have a righteous way of looking at things yet the entire book read that way I guess Trump is not the only one living in a delusion.

Elcellent!

Clear and understandable. This book explains and clarifies a lot. I feel it is quite believable. Not only because of the reputation of the writer. But also because it has received no backlash as far as I know.

A fine recounting of events

Michael Wolfe has done a fine job of placing the events of Jan. 6th into context; adding texture to history.

Amazed we as a country, survived Trump.

Well written and a great narration. I knew that the Trump Administration was a CF but reading/listening to a book that confirms it, makes it so scary and to be quite honest, shocking that our country survived Trump.

I suggest listening to the Epilogue first.

The very fact that the clown sat down with Wolf again, speaks volumes about the essence of trump…for me, this reaffirms the picture of a spoiled ignorant sociopath who never worked a day in his life but rather bullied and BS’d his way through life, because daddy left him a pile of cash, so he could. The man does not read, can’t use email and can’t even use a spreadsheet, everything is a reaction in the moment and everything he says and does is focused solely on himself and how he looks to others and how many people turn out to see him…all about ratings, or crowd size…me-me-me. He is a broken record that repeats the same thing, true or not, he believes what he says, like a child, who really, really wants it to be true. The epilogue which, I assume was a word for word account of the Q&A session recorded in Mar a Lago really makes this clear, the rest of the book lays out the argument clearly and gives accounts of event in support.

Great clear thought process by Wolf…easy to follow and the reader is quite effective.
