Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Jo Beverley's Company of Rogues novels are coveted by romance fans who savor their irresistible passion and intrigue.

Lady Beware introduces Horatio Cave, a handsome heir struggling to redeem his long-tarnished family name. The Cave family has a dark, checkered past. Horatio, now home from a war in which he was distinguished for uncommon bravery and courage, is titled Viscount Darien.

Making his way into London society, Lord Darien searches for a woman who will help him turn the page on his family's years of scandal and misfortune. And then he meets the beautiful and elegant Lady Thea Debenham. Their lust is immediate and unquenchable, but Thea's brother, Dare, of the Company of Rogues, does not approve of their dalliance. Will Thea and Horatio be doomed to suffer the Cave curse?

Part of the Company of Rogues series

In their school-days at Harrow, a student with a natural leadership temperament had organized a club, so to speak, of invited fellow students. Now, though they're all more than ten years older and all are living quite different lives, those friendships are still steady, healthy rewarding elements in their lives. It's a great series!

The narration pulled me in!

Simon Prebble has such an elegant way of narrating that he captures you. With every twist and turn, you were plunged into the emotions, the details and flow of the story, that you forget you're in the present. Brava!!!

Surprise

I jumped in the middle of this series- always a risk- I enjoyed it. I usually listen with a timer to help me fall asleep but it few so intense that I found myself renewing the timer three times and was wide wake intently listening. One reason I liked it is because it showed a perfectly intelligent woman who although in love made good choices with her man- no manipulation or emotional sabotage The contrast with her cousin’s character was also significant.

Narrator was perfect

Story did not have enough romance dragged on about history of main characters not enough happiness a sad story

Good but not satisfied

The storyline was different from other books which was a nice change but not really true to the description. I liked the book but didn’t love it. I wanted more depth in their love and the intimate scenes felt glossed over even though there were only two. One which was at the Very end.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series and Lady Beware is no exception. It has a great mix of adventure and romance with characters that are both engaging and believable. Simon Prebble does a great job with the narration which adds to the overall listening experience.

Good story overall

I enjoyed this book a lot. Simon Prebble was perfection as always. I liked that Thea was reluctant at first but then when she fell she never wavered after that. I felt so much for Derian. So hard for him to live with his family's past evil.

I recommend.
