Publisher's summary

This classic tale from New York Times best-selling author Susan Elizabeth Phillips is back to delight listeners once again.

A British lady, Lady Emma Wells-Finch, the oh-so-proper headmistress of England's St. Gertrude's School for Girls, is a woman on a mission - she has two weeks to lose her reputation. Arriving in Texas with skirts flying, umbrella pointing, and beautiful mouth issuing orders, she knows only one thing will save her from losing everything she holds dear: complete and utter disgrace!

A Texas rascal, world-famous playboy-athlete Kenny Traveler has kicked-up his boot heels one too many times, and now he's suspended from the sport he loves. Only one thing will restore his career: complete and utter respectability! Unfortunately, he's been blackmailed into chauffeuring bossy, single-minded Lady Emma, and she's hell-bent on visiting honky-tonks, chasing down tattoo parlors, and worse...lots worse.

It's love, all-American style when this gorgeous man who can't afford another scandal meets this hardheaded woman who's determined to cause one.

👍

The book was good. Really funny at times. I really didn't care for the narration. I didn't care for the change in the voices. The narrater played the part of every one. male and female

Loved this book.

Susan Elizabeth Phillips is one of my favorite authors with interesting characters, hot romances and funny dialogue. Anna Fields is my favorite narrator, so sorry for her tragic death.

Love Is Rarely a Hole in One

Susan Elizabeth Phillips has a knack for creating well developed characters and witty dialog that keeps me entertained
and smiling. Overall,I think the
narrator did a good job of differentiating the between the voices needed. Enjoy !

Old school romcom

A old-school contemporary romcom for old-school romance readers like me. Laugh-out-loud funny, this book has all the hallmarks of SEP’s charming writing. It doesn’t hurt that I love golf and this is a rare romance that uses the game as its backdrop.

The narrator’s accents captured the characters very well.

No more music

The music between chapters is awful. Please just say the number of the next chapter. Don’t play music. Especially don’t play it over the beginning of the chapter. It’s hard to pay attention to the words when there is music playing.

Horrible narration but good story

The narrator spoke too quickly and I really don’t like her voice. She did a decent job changing voices for the different characters, but was horrible in general. I was so annoyed by her voice that I kept missing the story and has to re-listen. The story itself was good. Not one of her best, but good.

book very good, audio not

Audio was very disappointing, did not like the interpretation of the voices of Kenny and Emma. It almost ruined the book for me. Had reread the book several times before listening to the audio, as it is a lovely and humorous love story. But works better imagining the voices yourself, instead of the listening to audio and trying to ignore the weird interpretation of the characters, as Emma sounds like a 50-60 year old British woman and Kenny like a redneck.
