Publisher's summary

From career coach and founder of the start-up Ladies Get Paid - the eponymous organization leading the fight for equality in the workplace - comes a “powerful call to action” (Reshma Saujani, CEO and author of Brave, Not Perfect) that provides the tools you need to strategically navigate the workplace, achieve success, and become a true leader.

Claire Wasserman has one goal for women: Rise up and get paid.

As the founder of Ladies Get Paid, Claire has worked her entire adult life to promote gender equality in the workplace. If you’re looking to navigate a promotion or break the glass ceiling, Ladies Get Paid is your essential toolkit for achieving success.

Filled with straightforward advice and inspiring stories, this book is a transformative “guide to succeeding in your field, even when you feel completely stuck” (Beth Comstock, author of Imagine It Forward), by encouraging self-advocacy and activism. Covering topics as crucial and varied as how to combat imposter syndrome, deal with office politics, and negotiate a raise, Ladies Get Paid is a reminder that you are valuable - both as an individual woman and as part of the female community. And ultimately, it’s about more than your wallet - it’s about your worth.

Women Supporting Women

There is so much information that you can unpack from these stories and something that I think each woman can relate to in some way. It’s about getting you to think and approaching a different method to go about doing things and taking risks and not allowing fear to get in the way of what we really want. You can feel the energy and passion of what these ladies are going through and we all need to continue to support the sisterhood to get to fairness and pay equity. We need to break down this stereotype and stop with women hating on other women and start to think of how we can be supportive and I really appreciate that this book can do that. This book needs to get shared and re-read!

great book

Claire does a great job giving us some cold hard facts about women in the workplace. I find it so hard to believe some of the numbers she gives us. She also gives us great ideas for getting what we should, other benefits we might night think about and it is ok to walk away when needs are not met.

This is a book for everyone! Management should read this to help them take a long hard look at themselves, the company culture, Ann's uses for forward movement. Men should read this to help realize where they are and what women face. College students should read this so they know what is happening in the workforce and how they can be a catalyst for change.
