Publisher's summary

One boy. One girl. Two feuding towns.

MAEVE

I've heard a lot of things about Weston Cole. Popular. Conceited. Supercilious. He's spent the last three years steadily dismantling my family's legacy. I should hate him. And I did. Until I encountered him freshman year and discovered he's also troubled. Captivating. Audacious. And when I come across him again senior year, it turns out that knowledge is even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk . . .

WESTON

No girl in Glenmont is more untouchable than Maeve Stevens. She lives across enemy lines. Her father is the head football coach. Her twin brother's their quarterback. My latest problem? One glimpse of her viridian eyes makes me forget about the decades-long rivalry between our two towns. A few forbidden kisses, and the only thing I want to fight for? Her.

Perfect Love Story to Pass the Time

I needed a good love story to get me through a road trip and this was perfect! I gave it 4 stars because I wished the supporting characters were developed more and that the relationships between the main characters and their friends/family were explored. In the book, we’re told that both main characters have hard family situations, but we never get to see much of that. It felt like maybe the author wrote it quickly and didn’t want to put thought into scenes outside of the two love birds. Still, I really liked Maeve and I loved Wes. He was pretty well developed as a character and was the right mix of flawed yet deserving of the girl.

CW Farnsworth remains my secret guilty pleasure ….

I still loved this story but it’s a lot more YA and less spicy than my previous Farnsworth reads. IT is set in final year of high school.

This has a lot more slow burn more than a hot and steamy spicy read. There is sex but it is more glossed over and fades to grey (not black) and lacks details of a more adult book.

Farnsworth remains my top read. And this is a very different take on several old tropes; Coaches daughter, secret girlfriend and enemies to lovers. She manages to make old ideas new and invigorated.

Despite the (sort of) YA vibe I really liked the story and the way that it built.

This story had good progression and never felt like it was constructed for the sole purpose of a plot ploy. I really liked it was really good the way that early bread crumbs in the story are used to close parts of the narrative in a really good way.
What I like about Farnsworth books is that they rarely feel forced. I like the progressions.
I also liked the way that Farnsworth included family and friends in building the narrative. That includes parents, family and friends. There is also some real rivalries that form a good part of the story.

I liked the FMC. She is well rounded, self assured and knows who and what she stands for as a person. She plays soccer, she’s smart and has her own life and is multi-dimensional. Her portrayal feels real.
The MMC is equally genuine and well rounded with his own set of issues but it gives the book context and vibe.

The story was really good and never bogged down. It was light and progressed really well through to a realistic conclusion.

As I started, it’s a bit YA (but more adult than most) but it does stay true to that vibe and had a lot more meat-on-the-bones than other stories.

Sweet and Deliciously Tense

First of all, I have to say that the premise of this story is so simple, but there is a whole lot of perfection in that simplicity. These characters absolutely come to life on the page, their romance, their frustration with their circumstance, and the entire scenario. Sometimes, I felt like the rivalry between the two towns was a little overplayed--because surely, there isn't anything really like that--but I wasn't born and raised in a small town--so maybe it is. But that's my only gripe, and it's a relatively small one. This is a fun story, and I'd love to have more of this author's work in audio. It'd be an insta-buy for me.

Absolutely loved it!

The story was as good as I've come to expect from C.W. Farnsworth. It was amazing seeing how these rivals fell in love. They had amazing chemistry!

This was my first time listening to Alex and Amy. They both did a great job!

MUST READ

So cute!! Enemies to lovers is my absolute favorite AND this one was just so cute! It was mature but not explicit like some… more of 18 year old style which I like. The narrators just KILLED it!!!!

Could have been better

While I love enemies to lovers and secret dating, this story lacked details except when describing any physically romantic scenes. I was disappointed with the lack of depth in the characters and even more so with the male narrator. I only finished this book so fast because I skipped through his chapters. The writing was simple and made me feel like I was reading an unedited version.
