Publisher's summary

An explosive and revealing new biography of Britain's future king by the journalist dubbed "the Godfather of royal reporting" by the Wall Street Journal.

Based on extensive fresh material and resources, Robert Jobson's biography provides a definitive insight into the extraordinary life of His Royal Highness Charles, Prince of Wales, as he approaches his 70th birthday at a watershed moment in the history of the modern British monarchy.

Exploring well beyond the banal newspaper headlines that have caricatured Charles over the years, the book debunks the myths about the man who will be King, telling his full, true story; exploring his complex character, his profoundly held beliefs and deep thinking about religion - including Islam - politics, the armed services, monarchy, and the English constitution, providing an illuminating portrait of what kind of monarch Charles III will inevitably be.

Although this book is not an official biography, the Prince's office, Clarence House, has agreed to cooperate with the author, who has spent nearly 30 years chronicling the story of the House of Windsor as an author, journalist, and broadcaster.

A bit of a love fest

I enjoyed the book but found the author too much one sided and making excuses for the now King. it's almost as if Charles could do no wrong and we just don't understand. I admire the King and his work and even stances I disagree with but the author needed to present a better ability to acknowledge the faults and challenges. I look forward to hearing from a new author who is more balanced.

Beautiful perspective, brilliantly told.

I felt I was there each time the author depicted and brilliantly described his audience with HRH. I'm an instant fan. Cannot wait to read another by Robert.

How little was Diana’s name mentioned. She, in my mind, played an important part in lives of all.

In the entire book my likes and dislikes were so trivial that I couldn’t even remember any.

An interesting biography on King Charles

As someone who was peripherally aware of some of King Charles’s interests and projects, this was an informative read. I developed an increasingly respectful opinion of his goals and positions as the book progressed, even if I don’t agree with all of them. As an American I have to say we need more people of King Charles’s disposition and especially his diplomacy. He gets things done.
