Spending your time out in your room without dinner...a perfect time to slip off and rule the monster world. My children and I love this book so much. We have read it a hundred times. The audiobook is a joy to listen to and my kids got lost in the reader's voices. We highly recommend this audiobook for your children ages 2-92!
I haven't seen these before, you know, the picture books on audible that have picture changes corresponding to the story as you listen to it. It's a shame that the current version of the iphone app has giant buttons blocking the view of the pictures. Why no hide option? For this reason, this and any picture book on audible becomes a bit of a waste of money for such a short audio clip and minimal visual experience. Fix the problem and the experience would be much improved.
This is exactly what I was looking for from Audible: a narrated picture book. I have a kindle fire and I want the kids to see the original pictures and listen to a great story teller.
Where are the other ones like this?! I don't even see anything in the description that indicates that the pictures change as the story plays... If anyone knows, please help!
This is always FUN to read to your kids. But if YOU'VE never heard it read before, I strongly recommend that you download this and listen to the narration. Both you and your child will love it, and it will inspire your reading in the years to come.

Listening to this children's classic on the Audible APP for Android was such an experience! The added sound effects (musical), pictures included, and the brilliant narration was an adventure for my senses! Without having the physical copy, you are still transported into this fantastical world with Max - King of all the wild things!
The narrator's growls and monster noises brought the characters to life! The catchy background tune will bring you to life as well. Although the journey may have felt like a 1 year journey for Max, the very quick and easy listening is perfect for wandering children and busy adults. A must read for everyone with kids, who was a kid once or continues to be a child at heart.
I was first attracted to this book because I wanted to see how Audible would read a book and show pictures on my Android. Turns out it was fantastic. The reader was excellent in convening the emotions and different characters in the story. The story itself is a classic and everything blended together perfectly.
On a side note, if you've never read, "Where the wild things are," then you are in for a treat. It tells the tail of a child sent to bed without dinner because of his bad attitude and he looses himself to his imagination in his room. This is a great bedtime story for someone with small children or people young at heart looking to revisit their past.
What an I say, I have always loved this book, and now I get to share it with my kids. Granted, they did not see what I saw in this book, but the narator did a great job and the story is just as I remember.
Other than the story the music is perfect my 2 year old twins yell monster music everytime we play it the narrator did a great job too!
He has a gravelly voice that fit this story so well!
We'll eat you up we love you so!
This version has the pictures but I found that my boys like it better just listening.
It was short, and had excellent character voices and sound effects.
the beast of course!
He's one of the best male narrators for children's books I've run across.
Sure. I could handle all 6 minutes!!!
I don't know what I was expecting, I just bought it because it's a familiar story for my kids (3 and 5) but the performance and background music make this one of our favorites!
The rolling of eyes and knashing of teeth of course!
