Don't miss the other books in the Hank Zipzer series.

I'm a mom. I have drama in my life. I don't want books with the F-bomb, nor graphic violence. I read for fun and to bring my family together. I read for reducing stress levels. We have never had a television in our home and our children are now mid twenties to 19. We listen together and look for belly-wrenching laughter. So what is it like to live without a TV? Awesomely educational and inspirational. Each new book is a marvel.
Hilarious! Hank is an awesome kid and he enjoys making his dad laugh, his friends happy and he does all this by being real. The resident bully has his moments and there are times I wish an adult would step in with a 'Hey! Let's say something nice or not say anything at all.'
Overall I have enjoyed these books. I find kids hilarious and being their support network is the best part of my day. These books go straight down that path. Every kid needs a Papa Pete.
There appears to be 16 volumes in this series and Audible has only the first four. I wish they had more. Henry Winkler is a great narrator.
I fully expected this to be the typical "young loser end's up saving the day" sports story - but it far surpassed my expectations. Yes, the main character is a loser at school and sports, but his adventures and terrors are hilariously described. And yes, the story peaks at a big softball game - but even there I was caught off-guard with how hysterical the events became.
Henry Winkler is a surprisingly great narrator, and this production will keep kids and adults grinning. There should be an Academy Awards for Mini-Van entertainment so this production could be honored. Anyone who loves sports will love this audio, but any kid (or adult) who dreads sports will love it even more.
