Story
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

In alternating chapters this Wings of Fire special edition takes listeners back to the very beginning, when powerful, mythical dragons Clearsight, Fathom, and Darkstalker - the most dangerous dragon of all - were just dragonets. Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey are unquestionably two of the greatest epic masterpieces in Western literature. Though more than 2,700 years old, their stories of brave heroics, capricious gods, and towering human emotions are vividly timeless. The Iliad can justly be called the world’s greatest war epic. The terrible and long-drawn-out siege of Troy remains one of the classic campaigns. The Odyssey chronicles the many trials and adventures Odysseus must pass through on his long journey home from the Trojan wars to his beloved wife.

Publisher's summary
After a summer spent trying to prevent a catastrophic war among the Greek gods, Percy Jackson finds his seventh-grade school year unnervingly quiet. His biggest problem is dealing with his new friend, Tyson, a six-foot-three, mentally challenged homeless kid who follows Percy everywhere, making it hard for Percy to have any "normal" friends.
Critic reviews
"Adventure follows chaotic adventure at a rapid pace, and readers with even a passing acquaintance with the Odyssey will enjoy this fresh use of familiar stories." (School Library Journal)

Awesome read
I have read the whole Percy Jackson book series many times and I love all of them. Although the book is awesome I don’t love who they chose as the narrator. Not the the worst I’ve ever heard but not very good. I’m very glad I got introduced to this series from a friend and read the paperback book first. Overall I am obsessed with this book I don’t know how Rick Riordan does it. Just wish there was a different narrator choice.

A thrilling sequel!!
I loved the second book in the series! Riordan returns with more Greek Mythology that all ages can understand and a hero that unexpected but amazing! Tyson was an incredible addition to the story that teaches everyone, especially children, that everyone has worth and value! I love the struggle of the main character to accept his half brother and push away the negativity of the other teenagers around him. Not only that but to grow as a character and hero with his friends. A great addition! Can't wait to read the next one!

I now see why the movies didn’t do so good.
I absolutely loved this book along with the first and can’t wait to listen to the rest of them. I was never able to read these books when I was younger due to a learning disability a lot of the words where hard for me to read. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to go on an epic adventure from home.
