After decades of hiding, the evil Enchantress who cursed Sleeping Beauty is back with a vengeance. Alex and Conner Bailey have not been back to the magical Land of Stories since their adventures in The Wishing Spell ended. But one night, they learn the famed Enchantress has kidnapped their mother! Against the will of their grandmother, the twins must find their own way into the Land of Stories to rescue their mother and save the fairy tale world from the greatest threat it's ever faced.

Estate planning lawyer and mom to two boys. My older son liked audiobooks as an infant, and I've listened to a lot since then.
I haven't read the print version but this is a great book on audio. Fairy tale fantasy type stories seem to translate really well to the audio format.
The fresh take on fairy tale stories we all know. Enjoyable for all ages.
My 11 year old and I listened to his first book as well (the prior book in this series). They were very similar so if you liked the last one, you will likely enjoy this as well.
There were several funny moments.
Colder isn't my favorite narrator which surprised me since he's an actor. He has a flat quality to his voice which I didn't really like. I preferred other narrators in this genre like Bronson Pinchot and Johnny Heller.
That said, my 11 year old liked the narration. He also found the story engrossing.
Yes, my daughter (6 when we first listened) and I both love this series.
A lot of laughing and great vocabulary to launch discussions with my child.
Great story and great narration : )
Once again Chris Colfer takes us into the world a fairy tales making what was one old new. I love his intertwining of the fairy tales that we grew up on and giving a new twist to them as well as insight of his thoughts of their back stories. I thoroughly enjoyed this and look forward to the Grimm Warning which is next.
Colfer took more risks in this book with some of the themes, but stuck to the quest narrative.I don't know if I got a sense of the twins having aged, but the fairy tale characters are just enjoyable as they were in the first installment.
I think it made sense, and I think he could have ended the series here.
Colfer continues to bring a full life to all of his characters and paces himself well in the audio-version.
Personally, no. I think the first two books told a complete story, and as such they didn't need a sequel.
As an adult listener, I don't know if I am the intended audience. I tried this book and its predecessor based on the recommendations of a friend. I think Colfer's stories are well told and would be great for younger listeners. I did like his vision of the fairytale world, but I don't know if I would recommend either book for an adult unless they were interested in children's or YA lit. Not trying to demean either of those styles, not just what I spend a lot of time listening to.
Awesome awesome awesome!
None and yet so many at the same time. Chris Colfer really wrote a great adventure and made it his own. While this story recalls many of the fairy tale classics, Colfer keeps the integrity of each character without commercializing them. But they aren't who the story is about anyway. Alex and Connor Bailey are awesome and lovable and new characters who are a fresh breath of air.
What? I have to pick just one? That's not going to happen! I caught myself a few times wondering how in the world he gave each characters voice such a different range, I had no problem telling which character was from the other.
If I could have I would have! But I just didn't have that much free time in one sitting. But I did finish it in a week and a half.
Thank you Chirs Colfer! After listening to The Land of Stories, the wishing spell and finding out soon after that he had already had The Enchantress Returns in the works, I was so delighted! I hope he isn't done with Alex and Connor Bailey just yet, please don't be! I have more to say but can't without spoiling something awesome for those who haven't read yet.
