Publisher's summary

Over one million people have read or listened to and loved Wonder. Now listeners will have a chance to hear from the one of the book's most controversial characters - Julian.

From the very first day Auggie and Julian met in the number-one New York Times best seller Wonder, it was clear they were never going to be friends, with Julian treating Auggie like he had the plague. And while Wonder told Auggie's story through six different viewpoints, Julian's perspective was never shared. Fans could only guess what he was thinking.

Until now. The Julian Chapter will finally reveal the bully's side of the story. Why is Julian so unkind to Auggie? And does he have a chance for redemption?

Best Story I Have Heard in a Long Time

Positive: I think that "wonder the Julian chapter" was a very interesting and exiting story because it had some happy and sad/tragic things happening in the story. If you are buying this book I suggest that you should listen to it with your child.I think you should listen to "wonder" first.
Negative : none WAS SOOO GOOOD

Excellent, though different: Awful French accent

What made the experience of listening to The Julian Chapter the most enjoyable?

The story line here overlaps partly with the original book, but also makes an interesting departure into the past, which added another dimension to the world of Wonder, and especially to Julian's character, which helped make his transition credible.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Julian Chapter?

The meeting with Tushman and Julian's parents: the mother character is very compelling and got a strong reaction from all listeners in our house.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

As a French speaker I can say that the French accent of Grandmere was not even remotely a French accent. Eastern European? No idea where this accent came from. But it makes the book almost unlistenable for anyone who has ever heard French spoken. In fact, some of the mispronunciations are comical, because they result in completely different meanings - e.g., "Je vous faire pipi" instead of "Je veux faire pipi" turns "I want to pee" into "I'm peeing to (or on) you". My hope is that if ever these books are re-recorded, the Julian character will be played by someone who can also muster a decent French accent.

Great story

The story was incredibly well-written and well-read. Even if you are unfamiliar with the book Wonder for which this serves as a companion piece you can still enjoy the Julian Chapter tremendously!

Powerful, amazing messages. WOW! The Wonder Stor

Powerful, amazing messages throughout all of the Wonder Stories. One of the best stories I have ever read. The two sequels are a must read. They bring it all together with amazing emotions and lessons for adults as well as young listeners.
