Publisher's summary

Artemis is at boarding school in Ireland when he receives an urgent e-mail from Russia. In it is a plea from a man who has been kidnapped by the Russian Mafia: his father. As Artemis rushes to his rescue, he is stopped by a familiar nemesis, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon fairy police. But this time, instead of battling the fairies, he is going to have to join forces with them if he wants to save one of the few people in the world he loves.

This is a great series to read as a family.

I love the Artemis Fowl series. I love how it is geared towards children but is very entertaining for adults. I also like the humor the author mixes in.

Nathaniel Parker was a perfect narrator choice

I've loved the Artemis Fowl series since I was a boy and Nathaniel's character voices are spot on.

Why is it not separated into chapters?!

Love Artemis Fowl, trying the series as audiobooks for the first time. I actually enjoy the narrator, even if his character voices don’t always quite match what I hear in my head when I’m reading (and I really don’t love his Commander Root).

However, I do have two big gripes: first, the music that plays during the prologue is obnoxious and completely spoils the mood. No music at all would be much preferable. Second, the chapters don’t line up. “Chapter 1” is actually the prologue through chapter 3, and a similar pattern continues throughout the whole book. How hard is it to find the chapter breaks and punch in the time codes? Come on, Audible.

Highly Enjoyable

As a mother of very young children, I'm always on the hunt for books that interest me, yet are kid friendly. (no cussing, vulgarity, etc) The Artemis Fowl books are wonderful. Yes, they are technically children's books, but they definitely have enough depth and plot to interest adults. The narrator does an excellent job, and is one of the few I really enjoy. Beware- the last Artemis Fowl book has a different narrator.

Intriguing from start to finish

Eoin Colfer does it again. His attention to detail paints the fairy world beautifully. You are able to visualize and understand everything he writes. Fairies have always seemed girlish to me. But not now. Eoin Colfer has given me a whole new outlook on the little people. This book is packed with adventure and has a heartwarming touch. Get this book, and enjoy! For children and adults!

If you have not read Artemis Fowl, I recommend starting there first. The first book provides much to the plot of this book. You are sure to enjoy them both.

Wonderfully well written classic.

What made the experience of listening to The Arctic Incident the most enjoyable?

Nathaniel Parker once again brings to life a wonderful story! His creative nature comes threw as he develops the voices for the story's characters.

What does Nathaniel Parker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices i usually develop in my head are usually the same from story to story, but to hear a new twist to a familiar story brings it new life!

Love the "Fowl"

One of the best endings of the set. Can't wait for the first movie coming in 2020.

Read the book before, but acting and voices were amazing!!

I have read the entire series before and am currently re-reading the series for fun. It's always great to relive the joy of reading a book, and the different voices definitely added to the general effect of the audio aspect of the book. Once again, amazing job with the acting and voices!
