Publisher's summary

When Redwall was published in 1987 it catapulted author Brian Jacques to international stardom. And small wonder! This enthralling tale is jam-packed with the things we long for in a great adventure: danger, laughter, hairbreadth escapes, tragedy, mystery, a touch of wonder, a truly despicable villain, and a hero we can take to heart.

That hero is Matthias, a young mouse who must rise above his fears and failures to save his friends at Redwall Abbey. The villain is Cluny the Scourge, one of the most deliciously despicable rats of all time. The unforgettable cast of supporting characters includes the stalwart badger Constance, an irrepressible hare named Basil Stag Hare, and the elderly wisemouse Brother Methuselah.

But most of all there is Matthias, seeking his true destiny in a journey that will lead through danger and despair to true wisdom.

Don't miss any of Brian Jacques' Redwall series.

Fun book.

A great writer that makes it seem that you're right there in person. Great story for escaping the real world.

Wonderful

Fantastic listen. Narrator and character cast were wonderful and brought so much life to the book. Story was endlessly interesting and never made me wish it would hurry up. No fat. All relevant.

Fun and exciting adventure with woodland creatures

A friend had brought the Redwall series to my attention and saw it on sale for a few bucks. Told myself why not and I was not disappointed. It is a very fun and excitedly little dive into the world of Redwall Abbey and the adventures the furry characters get into.

great book and well read

my only complaint is that some voices, like War-Beak's are way louder than all the others, making their parts jarring. otherwise the cast is great and the story is fun.

Amazing Voice Acting

Thise audiobooks listens more like a radio drama then a book at times. Excellent and delightful to listen to. They brought many unique voices and accents to the table, and brought life to each character.

Loved it

Foremole is my favorite of the voice actors, and it turned out it was Brian J. himself! wonderful production, and a wonderfully creative world. no wonder it has lived on in the hearts of many so fondly even into the new world of today. It is now a classic.

Great Telling of an Amazing Story

Wonderful adaptation of one of my favorite stories. Brian Jacques does his story justice as narrator supported by a strong voice cast. The only drawback is Cluny the Scourge. He comes off more screaming bully than sinister warlord in this rendition, but it is the only drawback. Highly recommended for young readers looking for a bridge between children's books and YA fare.
