Ranger's Apprentice: The Lost Stories | [John Flanagan]

Ranger's Apprentice: The Lost Stories

Unconfirmed accounts of a group of Araluen warriors - tales of adventure, battle, and triumph over evil - have spread for centuries throughout the known world. Most notable is a clan shrouded in mystery, phantom warriors known as the Rangers. Two names pass the lips of every storyteller: Halt, and his apprentice, Will. They and their comrades in arms are said to have traveled throughout the kingdom and beyond its borders, protecting those who needed it most.

Publisher's Summary

The secret history behind the New York Times best-selling Ranger's Apprentice novels.

If true, these rumors can be only part of the story.

Only now, centuries after these men and women walked the earth, do we have confirmation of their existence. Behold: The Lost Stories.

    "Fabulous!"

John Flanagan has brought this story line to a close by chapters explaining the loose ends from the series - Ranger's Apprentice. It isn't enough since they are still sorely missed in my life but now I know what happened to them.

"Not the best but if you are a fan an must have"
What made the experience of listening to Ranger's Apprentice: The Lost Stories the most enjoyable?

Learning things about the rangers that you did not know before.

    Any additional comments?

This is a multiple short stories - not an epic story.

    "Wonderful Stories"
Would you consider the audio edition of Ranger's Apprentice: The Lost Stories to be better than the print version?

John Flanagan is a wonderful storyteller. The Ranger's Apprentice series are books for all ages. Get ready to watch the sun come with the audio books. Well done!

What does John Keating bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

John Keating makes these audio books shine.

"Disappointed with it being listed as Book # 11"
    Any additional comments?

The stories contained in the "book" were interesting, but poorly developed as with an anthology of books. My disappointment has to do with expecting another novel instead of a group of short stories. I recognize that it says "Lost Stories" however Audible has it listed as Book #11. With the MANY other books and series I have listened to (and Read) the next numbered book is another novel at least in the same world with same characters if not the continuation of the story line. I overall enjoyed the short stories, however wish that this was not labeled as book #11.

"Very Nice work....but change the Narrator!"

Once again Flanagan fills in the gaps quite nicely! However, once again Keating does a great job at ruining the listening enjoyment with his inability to give the characters distinctive voices that compliment their persona. I've decided to by the paper books from now on instead of purchasing the audible version if read be Keating.
