Great story

This ia a great story. I wish it had been narrated by Michael York. Would have been more enjoyable to listen to.

Awesome

I very much appreciated this story because it reminds me of when my grand mother would read the chronicles of narnia to us when we were young.

Excellent

This book is excellent. C.S. Lewis is a master story weaver. I read this book many years ago, and it is great to revisit it. The story is exciting, even for an adult. The narration is particularly good. This is definitely a "must read."

Good Escape from the Daily Grind

I was so tired of the news that I have been escaping into books for young people. You know, where good conquers evil and everything works out in the end. This is one of those stories. I appreciated knowing there would be no tricks or unreliable narrator etc and it fit the bill. I still think it is worth reading with children and discuss issues of class and royalty, and wartime suffering (children of england during WWII being sent to the country) that had occured. All the assumptions in the text are pretty far removed from today's children, especially in the US.

She will be missed.

Not that I was particularly familiar with the work of British actress Lynn Redgrave at the time I heard of her death from cancer. But as has been the case with every one of the Narnia books I've listened to so far from Harper Audio, Ms. Redgrave has a voice that lends itself well to narration. Other reviewers remarked on her inventive voices and I can definitely find little fault with her on that score. She brings an old favorite to life quite nicely.
Prince Caspian is set some hundreds of Narnian years after the events of Wardrobe. In that time the realm was conquered by the people of Telmar and has been ruled by the Caspian family. The current heir, however, suddenly finds himself fleeing for his life when his uncle Miraz, who served as regent following the death of his brother the king, is suddenly delivered of a baby son and decides to have the rightful heir killed. Aided by his tutor Cornelius, Caspian flees his uncle's castle and soon finds himself allied with the talking animals and other folk to whom Narnia rightfully belongs. Cornered by the army of Miraz, Caspian sounds an ancient, magic horn said to be able to summon help at need. This is how Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy finally return to their old kingdom, not to kick Caspian out of his place but to put him into it.
All in all this is an excellent story, done superb justice by an actress who I'm sure will be sorely missed. As has been the case with the other books so far, I could hardly put down the iPod.

Narnia Rises

An amazing adventure that introduces the reader to the next generation of Narnia rulers. This is a very welcome addition to the Narnian series. Peter, Susan, Edmond, and Lucy are drawn back into Narnia by the summoning of Susan's magic horn. However, over one hundred years have passed since their last adventure, and the new human rulers have tried to wipe up "Old Narnia" and all of it's magical creatures--including Aslan! The four children must come to the aid of the deposed child, Prince Caspian so that he may rule over a free Narnia in Aslan's name.
