Publisher's summary

A dragonkeeper of Paladin, Kale is summoned from the Hall to The Bogs by the Wizard Fenworth to serve as his apprentice and tend his newly hatched meech dragon, Regidor. But Kale isn't going alone. The Hall is sending a student to monitor her performance and report back to the scholars. Worst of all, it's Bardon - an older boy Kale finds irritating, but who at least can hold his own in a sword fight.

Meanwhile, the Wizard Risto has seized another meech dragon, bringing him dangerously close to gaining the power he seeks. So with only a motley band of companions, Kale sets out on a desperate quest to rescue the second meech, to free those dragons already enslaved, and to thwart Risto's devious plans.

It's up to Kale to lead the search and to embrace the role that's rightfully hers. But will her efforts be enough to save the land of Amara from the dark future that awaits at Risto's hands?

Fantastic even for adults.

This is definitely a coming of age story, and doesn’t have as dark of elements found in many other fantasy novels, but this series is still fun. And the narrator, simply out, is 100% perfect in every part. She does the men’s voices in a way that’s not jarring, and her voice specifically for Kale, the main character, is absolutely spot on perfect. Her emotional range to match the stories narration is perfect as well.

Amazing story but....

the story is absolutely amazing the only minor minor minor complaint I have is the narrator makes it seem like a child's story but it's still really good.

One of my favorites.

This book is probably my favorite in the Dragon Keeper Chronicles. I read the story years ago when I was a young teenager, and now I am listening to it read to me.

I love the story line, the tension we feel with Kale on her journey of discovery and adventure, and the parabolic truth that is so carefully taught through the dialog.

As much as I love this series there are times that I wish we, as readers, had more. But alas, the series is complete. I cannot expound on this without giving away spoilers. Christian fantasy readers will love this series, but it may not ever be as popular as some other magic/dragon fantasy works.

I think the narrator did a good job, although there were certainly some characters that sounded way too much alike. I had to rewind quite a few times to make sure I heard who was speaking at certain times, but all in all it was a pleasurable listen. 4/5

A Book for all ages

I had seen this series in the Christen fiction section of bookstore. It tells a story of faith and friendships. The tale of many different peoples working together for good. I would think that it is good for 7+ years. Lots of adventure and the characters are wonderful
