Publisher's summary

Sometimes the one you want is the one you least suspect....

Accountant Samantha Ennis craves order and structure. As the bookkeeper at the boutique advertising agency she owns with her three best friends, it's her job to apply logic to the chaos. When one of those best friends, laid-back Hunter Blair, moves in to share her loft apartment, Sam's carefully organized world is thrown wildly askew.

Hunter Blair's been the coolest one in the room since elementary school. Until recently, her biggest worry in the world was which of the girls in her cell phone to call on a Saturday night. But it's not long before Samantha sparks a fire in Hunter that has her questioning her old habits and longing for new ones. Isn't it a bad idea to fall for one of your best friends? Samantha and Hunter are about to find out.

Soho Savvy Sisterhood not to be missed!

Sam and Hunter are adorable, first as friends and then navigating what could be more. The NYC setting was a total bonus. And beyond the wlw story, I adore the Soho Savvy sisterhood. Felicity Munroe delivers an amazing performance and brings alive the brilliance of Melissa Brayden’s characters.

While I found the first book during an incredibly difficult time, the Soho Loft series was my respite, my joy-filled interlude with vibrant, spirited NYC gals. Starting each book was uncovering a buried treasure chest and getting lost in the gems before returning to the daily grind. Day or night, I could put in my earbuds and spend time with Brooklyn, Sam, Hunter, and Mallory, which filled my soul. These days, life is fabulous and I have greatly extended my lesfic enjoyment. But if I find myself in a grueling predicament, I listen again to Kiss the Girl, Just Three Words, and Ready or Not, and my joy is revived. Brayden is a master writer and this series is not to be missed!

So Good

Let me begin by saying that this is my sixth Melissa Brayden audio and the worst of them rates about 4.4 and this one isn't the worst. It's also the second book in the Soho Savvy series and the girls are even more lovable than they were in Kiss The Girl. Hunter in particular was fleshed out as a character; the author presented her in a great deal more depth than in Kiss The Girl.
Melissa Brayden's greatest strength as a writer is in creating sympathetic, likable, no make that lovable characters with the type of relationships that we wish we had. I won't go into any of the various scenarios presented that would illustrate these points but trust me the author can writes relationships really well.
Another positive aspect is the retention of Jessica's teenage neighbor Ashton in this book even though it's only a minor role. Perhaps in the next selection, the one where Mallory falls in love, her role will be expanded. I could even foresee her as the lead character down the line in a book of her own; or hey, maybe that's just me.
The one weakness the author has is her plots. Words like lame, repetitive, cliched, formulaic or ordinary come to mind. In the end it doesn't matter because despite those issues of plot weakness her books are always great listens and I'm waiting anxiously for Mallory to find her girl in the next Soho Savvy book. There is one more book by the author that has yet to make it into Audible; one that's hopefully being read and recorded as I write. Let's hope that Ms. Brayden has another dozen books in her.

Still my favorite Brayden

And that’s saying a lot! Start at the beginning with Kiss the Girl, and settle into the stories of four friends finding love and lives in Manhattan. Hunter is my favorite, so her story ranks highest with me. You will laugh and sigh and wish these gals were on your midnight chocolate speed dial.

Wonderful!

Really really like this series and the four main characters. Who wouldn’t want to hang out with them? Each one is complex, believable, and well written. Can’t wait to dive in to book 3!

Another winner!!!

I have to say, Melissa is my new favorite author! This series has sucked me in and consumed me. The characters, the falling apart, the coming together, the breaking down, the building back up, the friendships, the families. *sigh* I love it all!
