Publisher's summary

Just Give Up on projecting fantasies about yourself and pretending to live up to them.

Reject setting goals and making judgments about how good you are and instead just do what you want.

The only ones even taking notice are those less successful than you, are they really who you are looking to impress? Daring to fail is the new winning - doing what you want without fear of how you think people will judge you - even if that means getting a stripper in Brazil pregnant.

Happiness can only come from acceptance.

Stop resisting.

Just Give Up and be a winner!

About the Author

Growing up, despite attending prestigious private schools and graduating with dual Master's degrees, Vandell could not hold down any job past the notice period. Having reached middle-age with absolutely nothing to show for it, everything he has ever attempted has been a flop. Yet, the internationally-failed author and musician describes his life as one long and constant climax. This inspired him to become a motivational speaker to teach the philosophies from his failed self-help book about achieving career success.

Vandell quickly discovered that sharing his countless mega-flops and fiascoes was what motivated participants the most. The unintended result was people reevaluating their relationship with failure and achieving more by no longer being held back from giving their best, doing what they want. Not focusing on how you think people see you frees you to do what you like and find out who you are.

Live life free!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Undoubtedly! ‘Just Give Up’ is an eye-opener to all those who measure themselves by the standards set by society, those who have continuously failed at life and lost all purpose of life. Nothing or no one is as powerful as our mind, we are self-sufficient and independent and nothing can make us happy but us, and happiness can only be achieved through self-acceptance. It enables us to step back and analyse the broader picture that is life and its purpose, and begin rethinking our goals and aspirations. It helps us understand that humans are not born with an instruction manual that would help us steer our way through life; and it is only through failing again and again that we begin to grasp the true meaning of this life. This liberates you, allowing you to step out of your comfort zone, to view the world as it really is, to chase after your happiness and live life as freely as you please.

Any additional comments?

“What people need to hear instead is that daring to fail is the new winning! Real success is to maximize life experience by pushing through doubt and discomfort to discover a world beyond the constraints of simply being seen as successful in the eyes of a group of people you happen to identify with.”

‘Just Give Up’ evaluates and challenges the conventional notions of wealth and social statuses that lure men into the pit of self-pity, self-resentment, and depression. It talks about the true definition of life, and if our idea of success can indeed grant us the ultimate happiness that we are striving for. It aims to help us interpret our setbacks as our strengths, and to detach ourselves from the constraints of society to lead a happier and peaceful life.
