Absolute Banger
Believable Asia, _characters_, drugs, gays, gangsters, love, magic, peace, politics, and war: this book has it all and it absolutely slaps. It carries on all the energy and promise of book one with all the characters you still deeply care about while bringing in still more who are just as real.
I can't wait to see how the survivors do in book three.

One of the best series I've read
I grew up on fantasy and on martial arts films. This series is the perfect blend of them and the narrator is superb. Can't wait for more!

Like The Godfather Part II
Somehow, Fonda Lee managed to make the second book just as good, possibly better, than the first! Absolutely spectacular the whole way through.

Expansion to Greatness
How she did it? I do not know, but Jade War got me to a level of investment on the story that I haven't felt in a long long long time. The world building is impecable, the characters are so fleshed out and real that you feel their struggles, their ideas, their thoughts as logical and human. This is a masterpiece and I am not one for superlatives. A. Kishino is top tier as usual. Amazing Job

Terrific narration
There is so much to praise in the grim dark, fantasy, gangster novel. The storytelling is captivating and compelling. There are a lot of unexpected twists and turns. It left me questioning how I felt about the ending. I’m excited to read the next book. The narration was really good.
