Publisher's summary

Avikaia couldn’t believe his ears. “You speak as one who has been defeated, Haetrius. Do you allow one rut to cause you such turmoil? You know as well as I that even an army of giants can be repressed.”

Haetrius nodded thoughtfully. “But now I wonder to myself, brother…if you can repress the creature that has known trial all its life, and knows it can survive.”

Avikaia’s snakes hissed. “No creature is irrepressible.”

In this spellbinding saga of families torn and worlds neighboring our own, we meet an orphaned teenage girl with the birthright of kings; spellbound science experiments never meant to exist; a lone raider that remains in shadow; a three-strand cord of brothers with eyes for the Yvaekan throne; a reluctant wolf girl trying to get back to her mother and sister; and a mysterious door that secrets centuries-old lie behind.

Lanie’s a teenage girl running on bad luck and breaks. She spends more time with her earphones in than out, and spends most of her days dodging her pervy foster dad as well as the kids at school. She’s a total loner except for a homeless woman inhabiting the neighborhood park, and a certain Hummer-driving mystery boy. All she dreams of is finding her place in this world.

She has no idea she belongs in another world entirely.

Lurking close by are those who have gone to great things to ensure she never returns home.

For all Lanie has endured up to this moment, nothing can top what lies ahead of her.

Worlds and wonders

A beautifully written story of a Heroine caught between worlds. K.J. Alexander has a way of developing a scene through detail and action. You find yourself in each scene effortlessly and willing to explore! This is definitely worth a listen or a read for anyone who’s a fan of fantasy and a heroes journey.

Don’t waste your time or money on this…

I didn’t enjoy any of this story. I wasted 3 hours of my life trying to make sense of the rambling storylines (I’m not sure there are any) The ridiculous names of people, things and maybe some non human thing made me want to poke my ear drums out. The only thing good is the narrator which is why I gave 5 stars for performance.
