茶碗蒸しは江戸時代からあったといわれ、当時は箸で食べたようですが、現在はスプーンで食べるのが一般的です。
茶碗蒸しは火加減に注意しないと、「す」と呼ばれるブツブツができてしまいます。
滑らかに作るのが難しいため、茶碗蒸しを作るのが得意な女性は「いいお嫁さんになれる」といわれることもあるようです。
スーパーやコンビニでは、完成品や、卵を加えるだけで作れる茶碗蒸しの素も手に入ります。
