I love Mercedes’ new books! It feels like coming home every time. I started reading this series 30 yrs ago. I’m waiting, a little impatiently, for the next book and learning the mystery of where companions came from.

The founding of Valdemar is so great. I can't wait to hear about how the companions came about. I have a long drive and I listen to Audible on the way home. This book was very enjoyable.

Book two short review
Loved the second book in the founding series. As always Mercedes did not disappoint, have been waiting this second book with great anticipation and now will have to wait for the next book hope it comes out soon. This second book had everything that I have enjoyed so much of all the Valdemar series that I’ve come to enjoy and love. Am loving the way this story and how it unfolds weaving its spell of magic on it’s readers, listeners. Will be looking forward as to how the story will unfold and what new characters, adventures will surprise and delight us all.

Really Enjoyable
I absolutely loved Baron Valdemar, the narrator truly brought him to life. The Pebble storyline had me laughing out loud. And the Red forest, all I can say, to me it is the most terrifying monster that Lackey has created in the Valdemar World.
