Publisher's summary

Get the Interstellar Gunrunner bundle, featuring all three books in the space-opera series. More than 30 hours of aliens, smuggling, adventure, and an unlikely hero you can't help but root for.

Bodhi Drezek is heartbroken, universally despised, and drowning in debt from the 65 million tons of explosive compounds in his cargo hold. Despite his former glory as one of the galaxy’s foremost arms merchants, times are tough. The tyrannical Halcius Hegemony has nearly finished crushing a rebellion, depriving him of his top two customers.

Under the gun to absolve his debts, Bodhi takes a job to help a group of desperate rebels pull off a daring heist on a Hegemony flagship. But upon grabbing the loot, he realizes his employer only fed him half the story: Instead of precious gems, he’s hauling an alien weapon with apocalyptic levels of power. Accompanied by a future-seeing sidekick, a child prodigy, and the interdimensional being that fuels his ship, Bodhi prepares to pull off the ultimate double-cross - and turn the tide of war.

Standing in his way is the entire Hegemony fleet and his employer’s brutal hunters. But there’s no going back now. The universe’s last hope lies in one man - Bodhi Drezek, arms merchant and circumstantial savior.

Woawza

I don’t always write a review, this was engaging from beginning to end. I truly enjoyed it and laughed out loud in so many areas. Thanks.

Great Story But Performance Lacking

The story had a great basis. However, the narrator needs to learn how to use different voices for the different characters. Sometimes I could not tell who was saying what until stated who was talking. Hard to listen to this story for that very reason. Wished I had read this one instead of listening to it.

Interstellar worthy book

This might be one of the best series I have had the grace to listen too since Bobiverse. It is pithy, daring, edge of your seat fun. The story alone is worth reading, but Garrett Michael Brown makes it come to life in this narration.
This series ties up all loose ends, and could have made several different books from it. This doesn't mean that it ends poorly though. The story is so rich that it could have its own DnD universe. If you are a fan of space opera's, unique stories, or even sci-fi in general this series is for you.

Great listen for a commute

I enjoyed it, it works great for my commute to and from work. I can just relax on the subway, and enjoy the book. It's one of those turn off your brain, and don't think too much about the details book.

Fun sci-fi with fantastic performance

Brown’s performance for each character is amazing. Very fun world to get lost in. Firefly, Han Solo, Guardians of the Galaxy mixture.

W is for weasel 💙

Bodhi is a ethically dubious, mercenary, lying, weasel with rare transient smidgens of integrity and still I like him.

Story moved quickly, is imaginative, descriptive, with interesting diverse characters and plenty of humor but you might need to be a bit warped to truly enjoy it.

Narration was very clear, clever, expressive and easy to follow even though I listened at 1.20X to compress my listening time.

I was given this book at my request and am voluntary leaving a review thankyou Aethon Audio

fun trip

nice epic journey and adventure with lots of humor and action as well as some very good philosophical insights.

I had my echo devices follow me around the house and in the car. Many hours of entertainment and some nice mental and moral exercises.

Great value and content

To be perfectly honest i wasnt expecting much out of this series. It sounded a little corney and it being boxed together for 1 credit made me jump to some unfair conclusions. First off 3 books for the price of 1 is a great deal and very much appreciated. Thats partly why i gave it 5 stars overall but the story a 4. I really enjoyed the style in which it was written from the perspective of captain Bodey writing his memoirs after all this had already happened so we get some commentary throughout his telling thats pretty amusing. The characters are all fleshed out, funny, believable, relatable and lovable. Theres alot of alien species that bring depth to the galaxy and the authors descriptive way of exploring both the worlds and inhabitants brings us deeper into the story.

SPOILER ALERT FROM THIS POINT ON
I do have some beef with either the 2nd or 3rd book i forget exactly where this arc took place but bodey gives himself up to save his crew and ends up getting put in this horrible tourture palace getting his mind played with in simulations all day. He eventually gets rescued and when he reunites with his crew none of them are greatful for what he did to save them or sympathetic in the least for the tourture he went through because of it. Chaska especially is being horrible to him and acting like he screwed her over when all he did was give himself up to rescue them. Its not even spoken about like no one brings up how unfair their being to him even though he made a selfless act of sacrifice. That was pretty anoying but eventually things got back to normal. Other than that it was a very entertaining story and i see why there are no negative written reviews.
