Publisher's summary

Survivors of a deadly planetary outbreak take on a sinister new adversary in the white-knuckle sequel to Contagion, which New York Times best-selling author Amie Kaufman called “gripping, thrilling, and terrifying in equal measures”.

Thea, Coen, and Nova have escaped from Achlys, only to find themselves imprisoned on a ship they thought was their ticket to safety. Now, the nightmare they thought they’d left behind is about to be unleashed as an act of political warfare, putting the entire galaxy at risk.

To prevent an interstellar catastrophe, they’ll have to harness the evil of the deadly Achlys contagion and deploy the only weapons they have left: themselves.

Fans of Jonathan Maberry, Rick Yancey, and Madeleine Roux will relish Bowman’s tense, high-stakes conclusion to the events of Contagion.

A good finale.

The ending feels a little rushed and honestly kind of stupid. I won't go into detail bc i don't want to spoil anything. The preformance from the narrator is excellent and over it is still a very good read.

Great conclusion

Took a little bit for me to get back into but I really enjoyed how everything wrapped up.

Great YA soft SciFi with light horror and romance

I found this book to be an interesting continuation of the previous, the narrator's cadence was initially a bit off-putting but that was my own issue to deal with, the story felt slightly flat like it was too simple at times but the characters are cute and have a modicum of growth. The romance aspect wasn't expected but I am sure YA readers will relate to it. Overall I'd say it's worth a listen. Well done, Amy McFadden.

Fun YA style read

Fun, easy listen with some simple twists.. Some interesting what if's and human nature exploration, although plausibility didn't have a high priority..

The narrator made a simple story come to life, and made the characters real..

Glad to have read it and sad the series is finished..

It's the best book.

I liked the main plot of the stories. The suspense, the action, it was all great.

Just as good as the first

I loved this series. Immunity kept up the tension and fast pace of Contagion. There was also a simmering undercurrent of danger involving the bacteria getting out. I wasn’t sure the story would be as gripping as the first since the environment changes, but Bowman really kept the thriller vibes going. So good! And looking forward to more of her books in the future.

Awful Narrator!

The narrator ruined this book for me. I couldn't finish it. I tried. I really really tried but her 80s' valley girl voicing was just too much. Probably would have finished the book with a different narrator.

Not good

I really enjoyed the first book. I wasn’t aware that it was supposed to be YA as it’s not labeled as such. I was excited to get to this one but… it’s just not good. It reads like awful fan fiction written by and for middle school girls. It barely seems like a continuation of the first book, which was fun science fiction. This was all uninteresting characters with illogical love stories, which just happen to take place in space, with a forced side quest about mom shoved in there. Maybe if YA was my jam I’d appreciate it more but, no, not good.
