As adults, Alice and Hanna must deal with disappointments in work and in love, as well as increasingly complicated family tensions and lives that look dismayingly dissimilar to what they'd intended. Unlikable characters who you just can’t get enough of
The character development in this story is excellent. This is a family of anxious, self-doubting narcissists. Yet, they are also strangely compelling. I listened non-stop to this book. The narrator has a wide vocal range and brings the characters to life.
