Publisher's summary

My name is Riona Murphy, and I’m the daughter of the captain of the Murphy Clan. As a mafia princess, I’m forced to have two faces. The fake innocent princess that everyone sees, and the real ruthless killer that lurks in the dark.

At least that’s the case until my best friend, Aisling, is taken. Now, my mask is down, and my daggers are clean. No one is going to stop me from tearing this city apart to find her.

My only problem, or should I say three problems, are the gorgeous Italians that have sworn to help me find her. With each day I spend with them, I find myself being pulled in by Enzo’s sweet charm, Matteo’s pure sex appeal, and Dante’s dark stares.

When I let them into my bed, it was supposed to be just fun. Temporary. I definitely wasn’t supposed to fall for them. I find myself caught between two families. Pulling toward one while being pulled by the other. Who will win? Me, or my captain?

This is book one of two in the Set the World on Fire Duet. They must be listened to in order, and this audiobook does end on a cliffhanger.

Due to the mature content this book, it is only recommend for listeners 18 years or older. This is a dark romance where the female main character has more than one love interest, and she doesn't choose between them. Some of the content may be triggering, such as kidnapping, abuse, child abuse, threats of rape, rape, torture, murder, and blood.

New experience after listening

I read this book earlier this year and I loved the story so much. Now, I love doing audiobooks because I feel like it's a whole new experience. At first I was not very sure about the narrator because I didn't see a change on the tone to differentiate angry tones from happy tones but as the chapters went on I was happy to see it was probably just the very beginning. Loved the story and narration.

Thrilling Love Story

You can’t help but root for Riona, from the first minute. In her relationships in the Murphy clan (Dad might as well be Don Corleone, you can feel his dark stare through the narration), with her brother and her best friend, you get to know a girl with few choices but intelligent designs. She is a nuanced hero who knows she’s no angel…And not bothering to try except to deceive. She’s brutally self-aware but still has all the deep feelings of a smart, savvy, tough, young woman. While not for the feint of heart (Riona adores her weapons and needs them), I loved the book. It kept me on the edge of my seat in the sinister world of the ‘Fire’ clans.
