Publisher's summary

Once a spy, always a spy.

Alex Toles and Claire Brackett are back in action. Once rivals, the pair of FBI agents receive a summons from President Candace Reid to the White House. Evidence of forced starvation scattered throughout Russia coincides with a growing military presence in the small Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. Concerned about potential Russian aggression in the Baltic States and confronting subversion within her cabinet, Candace turns to Alex and Claire to put the pieces of a growing puzzle together. Looking for answers in the present will mean revisiting the past - a past that seems determined to haunt Claire, Alex, and those they love forever.

Claire makes her way to Europe to infiltrate the inner circle of a group known as The Collaborative. Composed of agents from every global intelligence service, corporate leaders, politicians, oligarchs, and dubious actors, The Collaborative devises plots, dictates policies, installs leaders, and removes them. Claire will need to convince The Collaborative’s newest architect, Pyotr Gregorovich, that she has departed from her alliance with Alex Toles. Her quest will take her across Europe to Kaliningrad and a secret facility that defies everyone’s expectations. Meanwhile, Alex struggles to balance her family’s needs with a growing urgency to pursue the truth - not just for the sake of national security but hoping to uncover the truth of her father’s past.

Enjoy the antics of the Toles’ children. Share some wine with Rose, Cassidy, and Helen. Laugh at the caustic yet affectionate banter between the world’s most unlikely partners. Traverse a world where everyone is searching for more than the truth - for their Identity.

Welcome back!

A return to a world and series that I have missed. These are some of my favorite characters in the fictional world. Alex and Claire play off each other so well. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Very good book!

I enjoyed this story very much. Alex and Claire are back on the spy merry go round with out much resolution at the end. Also, I agree with Helen, Nicky needs to grow up and get his shit together about accepting/rejecting Johnathan because he has to “share” Alex with Pip. That is stupid and selfish,

Cassandra again, has done an excellent job with the narrative of his book!

Looking forward to the next book!

To much fluff

to many she said/he said, asked, questioned , replayed.
The performer did a great job separating the character with the voice tones.
but it was good story.

Who are You. Who Am I.

Alex and Claire are back in the deep conspiracy when they get a call fro President Candace Reed. On the trail of The Collaborative through Europe to Kaliningrad Claire is searching for the truth. The sins of the father’s are resting squarely on the shoulders of their children. Great series with Cassandra York as a bonus.

Weak plot on this one though I'm fond of characters

I kept expecting some excitement on a mission, but it was almost a spoof of spy novel. I'm fond of the characters yet found it irritating how they kept having some griping conversations with each other. Is this the end of this series?

Who Are We

What a story! Tight and suspenseful! My goodness! Where are we from — we all come from Spirit however this book opened my eyes to the sinister way our information is gotten from us unsuspectingly! Wow! Next volume please — got to find out what is next for this story to end! Who we are is not our parents however they instill in us various ideals that we have to find out if they are ours and what is good or not so good! This book is great! I want more Alex and Cassidy! Great book!!

Surprised

I do hope there is more to this story. You left us hanging. The story cannot be over yet. Is there a 7th audiobook?
