Publisher's summary

Forget the old concept of making millions of dollars when you haven’t even made hundreds of thousands per year yet. Don’t wait to get started, especially in these unpredictable economic times. Whether your dream is to escape the rat race, create enough income to justify that Disneyworld vacation every year with your kids, or earn a five-figure monthly income with little to no management, Ice Cream Is for Winners is the blueprint.

This step-by-step guide to a better lifestyle teaches:

  • How to build residual income in more than one industry
  • How to outsource your work to free up time to do whatever you want
  • How to reduce your expenses and eliminate more financial demand
  • How to trade a boring, restrictive career for frequent “mini-vacations” and more time for your hobbies

Stephen went from filing chapter 7 bankruptcy to building a six-figure residual income. After losing his portfolio of residual income he had built for several years up to hundreds of thousands of dollars, he was dependent on food stamps to feed his wife and kids. Follow Stephen as his journey unfolds in real time. He describes situations such as the beginning steps to starting a company, dealing with business crooks, and even becoming an actor. He describes them as they happen and takes you through his emotions, from periods of self-doubt to a positive mental clarity. See his attitude and success grow as he keeps the persistence to always move forward, despite life’s obstacles.

Raw, Real, and Relatable

Stephen takes you through an authentic depiction of what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. The good, the bad, the ugly, and finally the Great. His story is wrapped in the challenges of balancing being father and husband, while still pursuing the goal of financial independence. His story reminds of the saying, “just on the other side hardship, one can find greatness.” I would recommend this book to anyone that has life goals that go beyond the 9-5 grind.

Hidden Gem

A friend recommended this audiobook to me, I don't know what I was expecting but this listen was so much different than anything I have heard before. The story was so personal and the character supremely relatable.
This book is inspirational in a wonderful way. I found myself so engrossed that I was yelling at the main character in my car when he was obviously about to screw up. I was getting emotionally attached because I wanted this guy to achieve his American dream.
The fact that it was written over the years while he was in the struggle for a better life, make his feelings so much more raw than a retrospective story and adds so much to the everyman character.
I highly recommend this book as a uniquely inspirational story!

I could feel the weight!

This book stimulates the nerve of financial stress—a sensation so familiar to all of us. More colorful than the tired rags-to-riches routine, Stephen’s story repeatedly plucks that nerve until the reader is left exhausted and exhilarated by the ups and downs along an everyman’s journey to find financial independence. I enjoyed the book!

An in-depth look at the struggles of an entrepreneur

Besides Stephen’s excellent storytelling and calming voice, I found this book to be a vulnerable, gritty, in-depth look at what it takes to be an entrepreneur. We follow Stephen’s wins and devastating losses as he doggedly chases his end goal of developing his company. Throughout it all, he keeps the faith, recommits to nurturing his marriage, and finds not only his success but also discovers an artistic passion. I heard this book when I was personally struggling with my entrepreneurial efforts, and his story was so relatable that I felt seen and encouraged. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking to set out on their first entrepreneurial journey, or for someone who needs reminding about why we chase our big dreams.
