Publisher's summary

If you're in real estate, you've heard of syndication. It's the new industry gold rush, and much like the dot-com bubble in the late 1990s, investors are wondering if they should get in on the action or wait for the market to correct. Award-winning syndicator Bruce Petersen says it all depends. If you do it right, syndication is an amazing way to grow your business exponentially and achieve a life of freedom you never thought possible. And you don't need to wait for a market correction - Bruce will show you how to develop a track record of success with syndication right now that will have you well positioned and ready for the next correction.

However, syndication isn't for everyone. In Syndicating Is a B*tch, Bruce shares the stories other syndicators won't, like finding a dead body on a property and having Homeland Security take $5.2 million of your money. Along with the unvarnished truth, Bruce gives you the step-by-step guide you need to close your first syndication deal.

Must Read!!!

As someone who is looking to get into syndicating this book was a great resource. I love the down to earth approach Bruce takes in explaining it.

reservations

The advice is good. The cursing detracted from the quality. gives a glimpse into the syndication world- good and bad.

Must read!

If you’re an aspiring syndicator this book is a must read! It will help you chart a course to get started and navigate the waters of raising capital. If you’re a passive investor, you’ll be better equipped to weed out the good sponsors from the bad so you can preserve more of your capital. I enjoyed it so much I decided to give it a second listen!

To the point

This book does not have a lot of fluff. It’s honest and to the point. It provides some insight to the bad, ugly and the very realistic side of the business. Thanks for the honesty!

Undo the candy coating

This book definitely brings up the harder side of what goes on within syndicating and sheds light on the stresses of when things go wrong (or even right). It's kinda like the author is trying to talk you out of getting into it if you're new and this is your goal.

While it does bring up the difficult parts of syndication, it also brings up the positives and what's possible because, like the author says, its available for much more than just real estate. His ambition of syndicating a baseball team sounds pretty interesting.

I personally enjoyed the practicality of this book and think it's a good read to prepare your mind for the type of mental toughness you'll need for this business. Or, to simply pick something else.

Less pitch, more fact

Someone wrote a book on investing without a massive sales pitch. Wow- great book. I own a dozen single family homes and have been looking at scaling into larger properties, but everyone else is entirely one sided!

Good book, touches on all main aspects

enjoyed the book, touches on all main aspects but doesn't dive in too deep which makes it a quick read. I really found the syndication fees structure breakdown to be The Golden takeaway from my perspective. The title's a little misleading since it doesn't seem to share too much of the potential pitfalls other than what I'm already used to in the real estate development world, which seems encouraging.
