Publisher's summary

"An elegant, wise book of love in action." (Deepak Chopra)

"HumanKind has never been more timely." (People)

“The most uplifting and life-affirming book in years.” (Forbes)

This national best seller is filled with true stories about how one small deed can make a world of difference. HumanKind is the uplifting, life-affirming book that we all need right now — a reminder of what’s right in the world at a time when so much seems to be wrong.

Inspired by the many demonstrations of "humankindness" that supported Brad Aronson’s family through wife Mia's treatment and recovery from leukemia, he begins by talking about the people who rescued his family from that dark time, often with the smallest of gestures. But that’s only the beginning. Knowing that simple acts of kindness transform lives across the globe every day, he sought out these stories and shares some of the best ones here.

In HumanKind, you'll meet the mentor who changed a child's life with a single lesson in shoe tying that has had a ripple effect on thousands of lives, the six-year-old whose idea launched a global kindness movement, the band of seamstress grandmas who mend clothes for homeless people, and many other heroes.

Brad also provides dozens of ways you can make a difference through the simplest words and deeds, showing how each of us has the power to change someone's world as well as our own.

HumanKind will touch your heart, leaving you grateful for what you have and providing a refuge from the negativity that surrounds us. Listen to one of these stories anytime your spirit needs a lift.

My second time listening!

Love this book! I just became president of a retirement village. This book keeps me motivated and has given me many ideas to help grow our community after coming out of the pandemic. We are starting to see more smiles and less sadness. Thank you for this wonderful book of inspiration!

Make sure you have your Kleenex handy

When I began listening to this book it started out with a very simple story. Over time the author showed us the incredible acts of kindness people do for one another. It shows how the simplest act can change a life which then changes the lives of many others. I believe people would call this the butterfly effect. Or there's some other term I'm not familiar with at this time. What I do know is when you're reading this book or listening to it on Audible make sure you have a box of Kleenex because you're going to cry. It is a very in-depth and emotional book which takes you through all the acts of humankindness. It talks about how acts of kindness from 40 years ago or longer are still having an impact today. I really enjoyed the book and how people came out to help one another without even knowing anything about the person they were helping. People like to say kindness and goodness is dead in this world and I don't believe it after listening to this book. I hope everybody who listens to this book comes out with the same feeling and does something to help other people. This is my sincerest wish for the world!
