A Wealth of Information for Horse Ownership

If you're even remotely thinking of having a horse, this is book is a must! The author clearly explains everything you need to know, from types of breeds, horse care, training, feeding, equipment, barns, and so much more! My younger sister has had horses her whole life and competes on the the weekends. Now that I'm widowed, I'm thinking of having a horse of my own, so this book really helped me understand what horse ownership and care is all about. I highly recommend!

an easy listen

A thorough and informative book. My neice and I listened to this book over the holiday break and we both adored it because little did she know, her parents (my sister) was giving her riding lessons as part of her xmas gift. She was over the moon about this book and kept saying how she wished she could spend more time with horses to use all her new skills. Such a fun bonding experience for us.

Great Information!

I have wanted a horse for a long time and even though I"m not ready to purchase quite yet, this book will be an invaluable resource when I'm ready. Its comprehensive guide, from handling to first aid, simplified the process for me and made it feel less overwhelming and more attainable. Every chapter of this book is necessary for horse owners, but the first two chapters I think are the most important because the expense of owning the wrong horse can ruin the experience. ( I have lots of family members that own horses). These two chapters guide you on which type of horse that is right for you and what to look for and avoid during the purchase process. This book will safe you time, money, and heartache! Highly recommended for anyone dreaming of horse ownership.

Such a perfect guide for caring for horses

I can't recommend this audiobook enough! Daniel Hart's passion for horses is evident in every page of the book, and he provides so much valuable information on proper horse care it is just incredible.

One thing that really surprised me was how much work goes into caring for the pasture that the horse grazes on. I had no idea that it was almost as much work as tending to the horse itself! But thanks to this book, I now have a much better understanding of what it takes to properly care for a horse and their pasture.

After listening to this audiobook, I'm even more excited about the prospect of owning a horse. But I also realize that it's a big commitment, and I appreciate Hart's honesty about the amount of work involved. He got me into the right mindset to understand exactly what I would be getting into if I were to purchase a horse.

Finally, I have to give a shoutout to the narrator of this audiobook. They did a fantastic job and were an absolute pleasure to listen to. Overall, I would highly recommend this audiobook to anyone interested in buying a horse, or just curious in what it would take to own a horse. I Feel Like A Horse Whisperer Now!

I have had the occasion to ride a horse several times, but other than that, I knew little about them or owning one. This book changed that by taking me through every phase of getting and owning a horse. From the selection of type to the purchasing process, I now feel confident that I could select and negotiate a decent deal. But the book goes much further by covering the care and feeding, grooming, and safety considerations. Owning and caring for a horse is a big deal with lots of moving parts. This book helps you make sure all the parts are moving in the right direction for you. I enjoyed it.

Horse Buddy 101: Real Talk

Okay, so diving into this whole horse owning biz was pretty new to me. It felt like stepping into a different world, but this guide made it less of a head-scratcher. I appreciated the straightforward tips, especially the part about not getting hustled when buying a horse. Who knew there were so many details to watch out for? The section on different horse breeds was a nice touch too, gave me a good idea of what to expect and what to look for. And those handling rules? Definitely handy. I'm all about keeping things chill, so learning how to avoid spooking my new four-legged pal or getting myself into a pickle was key. Plus, the money management advice was a bonus. Who doesn't want to save some bucks while doing what they love? All in all, it felt like a pal giving me the lowdown on how to kick off my horse-owning journey.

Listen to This Before You Buy A Horse

The author created a comprehensive guide that is more like a bible for Horse Care than an audiobook about the basics. I never realized there were so many "basics". I learned a lot about all that is involved in buying, raising, and caring for a horse. There was also information about health, which I found quite valuable. I imagine the author's Amish background played into the considerable knowledge that was shared in Horse Care. After listening to the book, I have become more educated about these beautiful animals and their habits and routines.

I had been thinking about buying a horse but I'm not sure I could handle the responsibility of having my own horse, at least not now and not without some help. I think I would like a Morgan Horse when I do decide to buy one. I loved hearing about all the different breeds and their characteristics. There was so much great guidance and, not only information, but also directions on how to do things, and how often. It was like taking a class.

Well-organized and well-written. Great audiobook. Highly recommended.
