One of the best I have heard, short and entertaining!!
A pleasant voice, well chosen for this audio book
yes, I did it in one sitting and then revisited a lot of sections
Tim Ferriss is exceptional and unique.... he tests EVERYTHING in life. Advice from someone who actually tests, perfects and wears the T-shirt. Certainly invest in this book now!
After listening to this book I feel like if I were to follow it to the letter I would end up taking more pills than eating food! Not a big drug taker so not particularly impressed.
Note: this review is mainly on the experience of listening to 4HB as an audiobook.
I tried this because I listened to - and really enjoyed - The 4-Hour Workweek as an audiobook. This one doesn't work quite as well in audiobook format because there are more portions of the book that require following Tim Ferriss' many "recipes," taking in scientific terms, drug names, foods that may be obscure to some listeners, and so on. I'll definitely be listening again.
A more general observation: I suspect readers will also be very selective with which aspects of the content of the 4HB they choose to try out - certain parts are definitely for real experimenters (like Ferriss himself), whereas much of the 4HWW seemed quite readily applicable to most people willing to buy into the book's main concepts.
Overall, all of Tim Ferriss' books are probably most effectively approached in book form, where his lists of data, links and formulas for "lifestyle design" can be read and digested in your own time. If you have the time, that is. I don't get through books particularly quickly, and so I've still really enjoyed getting through the concepts via these audiobooks.
"Listen to a sample 1st"
I am so sorry that I feel the strong urge to write this review feeling the way I do about The 4-Hour Body.
I believe if you cant say something positive then you should probably stay quiet but I really hated this audio book. Tim's regime was recommended by a friend and not having the time to read the book I thought an audio version would be just the thing. But right from the start I found it irritating and the narrator's tone highly annoying. It just wound me up the wrong way. The constant use of meaningless acronyms, CUOMA, was just confusing and ridiculous.
Actually as I write this I have thought of 1 positive thing to say about this book I found it so annoying that the nettles I was clearing whilst listening to it didn't stand a chance. So, if you are considering buying the audio version of the book and can listen to the sample without getting annoyed then maybe you will enjoy this book. Just remember to have your Acronym head on whilst listening otherwise you will get totally confused.
"Worth a read"
Very basic information, some of which is enlightening, especially for the majority that have little experience/knowledge of working out and healthy eating. Not much for the more experienced to take away, but worth a read to maybe pick out some areas for further study.
"Very good as last book"
Too many acronyms almost renders audio book useless but stick with it, worth it!! Recommended listen and I think it's probably worth getting on Kindle as a reread.
"Buy the book not the audio"
Too much info for an audio book. It's a reference book you want to keep coming back to.
I bought the physical book because it's excellent but I wouldn't recommend the audio

"Brilliant content. Perhaps better in word form"
Extremely well researched and innovative in thinking, Tim Ferriss delivers another useful tome. As an audio book, it's been useful to have on my cycling commute to work however some of the details, like diet and exercise plan, seems a better fit for ebook or actual book format, as it can be a bit hard to grasp just hearing it.
"Worth a listen"
Because this is a short listen it's definitely worth it, very humorous in places, slightly technical in other but I will try a few of his tips immediately.
"inspiring book - bit too meat focused"
I resisted this book after reading some reviews then listened to a speech and decided to give it a try. some great information and ideas though as a vegetarian a lot of the diet is very meat based and I am not keen on cold showers and ice baths. I was also not keen on some of his heavy suplimenting regimes. I am inspired enough to buy the book as I think I need to study some of this in more detail. The ideas to improve sex life definately will be getting more study😀
Great book with so many useful hints and tips for any weight loss or training program.
"Solid, Not Surprising"
Didn't learn much that's outside of fairly mainstream fitness/ health ideas here. What I did learn was often so obscure/ complex to implement that I don't think it's practical advice for most people to follow. With that said, still enjoy Ferris from a 'concepts' perspective (e.g. Pareto's principle and its application).
