Publisher's summary

After the loss of her father two years before, Hannah Moseby has endured resentment from her stepfather in order to help her mother get through her new marriage. When her stepfather tells her he’s arranged a marriage for her with a preacher going west, and she can either marry the preacher or she can find somewhere else to live, she agrees to meet the man. She’s not a natural fit as a preacher’s wife, and she’s not sure the Oregon Trail is something she can survive.

Jedediah Scott is surprised when a stranger he meets at the general store in Independence offers him his daughter - more than offers, in fact. The man agrees to give Jed the amount of money it would cost to take her west, if he would consent to marry her. Jed agrees to meet the girl, because as a minister, he strongly believes in providence. Upon seeing Hannah, he feels drawn to her and wants her as his wife. God must surely have a hand in their meeting.

Will the two of them be able to see past the circumstances in which their marriage began? Or will life on the Oregon Trail break the fragile connection Jed is sure could blossom into love?

Great Series of Oregon Trail Romance and Hope.

Great beginning of a 6 book series. Really glad they are b beginning to come to Audible. Stepping out on faith is a great way of living. These women tend to be so different yet they are also so alike in their walking across the United States to Oregon.

I didn't care for this one

I really like this author, usually she gives you a book that is entertaining, exciting and thrilling, this story moved way to slow, each day for a few weeks and the telling of what they wrote down for their kids to read later on, which is really a retelling of what just happened. The ending is left hanging, they are a few weeks in have sex, kill a few animals, one person dies and that is about it. I am very disappointed and is not what I have come to expect from this author. I won't be reading anymore of this series unless I have already bought the books.

The narrator has lovely character voices, you always know who is talking and what they are feeling. Her male voices are just as good as her female ones. She gives true emotions to the characters, there are no background noise, no repeating of words, no volume changes. It is really a nice clear audio I don't feel this audio does her justice.

Cute story line

The story itself was cute but the narrator was painful to listen too...she sounded like a Disney character, way too modern for the Era.
