BOOK 3 IN THE IRON DRUID CHRONICLES

Thor, the Norse god of thunder, is worse than a blowhard and a bully - he’s ruined countless lives and killed scores of innocents. After centuries, Viking vampire Leif Helgarson is ready to get his vengeance, and he’s asked his friend Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the Druids, to help take down this Norse nightmare.

One survival strategy has worked for Atticus for more than two thousand years: stay away from the guy with the lightning bolts. But things are heating up in Atticus’s home base of Tempe, Arizona. There’s a vampire turf war brewing, and Russian demon hunters who call themselves the Hammers of God are running rampant. Despite multiple warnings and portents of dire consequences, Atticus and Leif journey to the Norse plain of Asgard, where they team up with a werewolf, a sorcerer, and an army of frost giants for an epic showdown against vicious Valkyries, angry gods, and the hammer-wielding Thunder Thug himself.

“Kevin Hearne breathes new life into old myths, creating a world both eerily familiar and startlingly original.”(Nicole Peeler, author of Tempest Rising)

A joy to listen to and laugh out loud funny

What made the experience of listening to Hammered the most enjoyable?

This entire series is one of the most enjoyable reads I have had in quite some time. The approach to the gods of all religions is rather unique and done with great equanimity. The story is entertaining and keeps you listening. I often caught myself laughing out loud while listening to this book. Kudos to Luke Daniels for excellent narration and to Kevin Hearne for being able to get on a roll and never let up.

Fast paced story and great characters.

Where does Hammered rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 5; the best of the Iron Druids - it requires and delivers an amazing voice agility to clearly reflect the characters and action in this book.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Even minor characters are well sketched but Atticus, as an ancient,
conflicted but very thoughtful character is best.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all of his Iron Druid performances.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Thor Gets Hammered.

Love these books!

Can’t get enough! Fully enthralled! Each book sucks me in and I can’t stop listening! It’s just the right amount of action, fantasy, plot, character development, dialogue, and I love how it’s not disguised under some cliche romance. Also the narrator does a fantastic job! I don’t generally like it when male narrators do the voice of females but he does all the voices great! And I love how Oberon (the dog) is incorporated into the story! So many original aspects of this series!
