A Popsugar Best Romance Novel of 2020

RITA® Award-winning author Elia Winters delivers a sexy, playful frenemies-to-lovers road trip romance.

Megan Harris had hopes of seeing the world, but at twenty-five she’s never even left Florida. Now a wedding invitation lures her to Quebec…in February. When her ex-friend Scarlett offers to be her plus-one (yeah, that’s a whole story) and suggests they turn the journey into an epic road trip, Megan reluctantly agrees to the biggest adventure of her life.

A week together in a car is a surefire way to kill a crush, and Scarlett Andrews has had a big one on Megan for years. The important thing is fixing their friendship.

As the miles roll away, what starts as harmless road-trip games and rest-stop dares escalates into something like intimacy. And when a surprise snowstorm forces Megan and Scarlett to hunker down without the open road as distraction, they’ve got a bigger challenge than making it to the church on time: facing the true nature of their feelings for each other.

Love sex and adventures

I loved the idea for the story line. I listened almost straight through! Although it seemed to drag a little in the beginning the story kept me looking forward to the next scene. Overall, I felt like the book was more heavily focused towards the sex scenes than the actual story line and falling in love. Maybe I'm just sappy and want to hear more romance though.

Second Chance on a Road Trip

Megan Harris hated change but it was hitting her like a tsunami wave. Losing her job, kicking her brother out, reuniting with her high school friend Scarlett and planning a road trip to Canada for a wedding of their childhood friend. A sweet romance with a little too much whining by Megan.

Loved it

I am a traveler, I have driven through 49 states of the US so far, I have driven more than once all over Canada, and Europe.
So, any traveling book is my kind of book, reminds me of places and people I met. But I travel in the summer and this winter book while it is hope out side, was great.
Loved the characters and narration was very good.
So yes I recommend

I Loved This Audiobook!

I'm new to this author and narrator, but love them both already. This book was so good! The main characters were childhood friends who had no contact for years when their mutual friend contacts them and invites them to Canada for her wedding. They decide to save money and drive together from Florida up north where they visit DC, NY on the way to Canada. They have lots of time together in the car so they learn who each is now and resolve an older issue. The characters were both very likeable and I loved the slow build up with their relationship and the sex scenes were steamy when they happened. The story needs a sequel. I miss Megan and Scarlett already. Great narration also. Loved her voice. Great Listen. I'm going to see if there are more by this author/narrator combo because they made work fly by.

Great LGBTQ+ feel good romance (Finally!)

Cute story, relatable characters, wonderful narrator! Refreshingly upbeat and quirky romcom lacking the unfortunate heavy mood typically found in other queer stories.

Road Trip Romance

This was such a sweet little road trip romance 🥰

Megan and Scarlett and to be best friends, but after high school, things happened, and they haven't spoken in years. Now, they both awkwardly agree to do an epic road trip to a mutual friend's wedding, and they are forced to confront the past. What I loved about this was how nice it was for the two to get to know each other again. Yes, they had history, but it also helped both of them see past their previous selves when they were younger. And it made me wanna go on a road trip 🚗☺️

A good story...worth the read 👍

Boring

I’m not sure if it’s just the narrator or the story was just boring. The narrator didn’t differentiate between voices much but Megan sounded so dull and the rest was read in a depressive and deeply bored voice
