Publisher's summary

When Amy Fortune returns to her childhood home, she discovers something sinister in the air - but is former lover Leone Garoul stalking her or protecting her?

Amy Fortune and Leone Garoul were teenage lovers. Now, years later, Amy returns to Little Dip, the Garoul home valley, to help her aunt finish a botanical project. Except Little Dip is no longer the happy place of Amy’s childhood memories. There’s something sinister in the woods. And why hasn’t Leone moved on? Why does she still dog Amy’s every move?

As more and more of the Garoul family arrive for a special hunting weekend, parts of the puzzle come together and Amy’s fears escalate as she moves closer to the truth - and the secret that has eluded her since childhood.

Wrong narrator for this book.

I love this series. but i couldn't get into the voice of the narrator for these characters. i imagine them having a more grown or deeper voice after all they are wolves. so not saying the narrator is not a good narrator. she's just not right for this book. at least for me.

Yes!

I'm so glad that there are bringing this series to audiobook. I have this one and the prequel. This series will be going straight into my cart not my wish list. I enjoyed this one as much as the prequel, and I can honestly say I can't wait for the rest. Hurry up and bring the rest to audio.

fantastic story, not so much narrator

I simply adore the garouls story. book five (which is the prequel for this and the following stories) was fantastic too, but this narrator I struggled with listening to it. not much character different and just somewhat disatifing after so much longing for this series to be made in audio form.

Perfect

I loved this book when I read it and yet I managed to love it even more in audiobook.

If you love quirky, feisty characters, supernatural creatures and a compelling story with a mystery to be unravelled then this is a must-listen.

Sternenberg did a flawless narration of an already fantastic book.

I couldn't finish this.

I cringed at this overbearing, cave man character. This is is so poorly thought out. it makes the character read as a rapists. I'm not sure who would be interested in this.

There should be a warning attached...

Although the MC kept saying "No," her ex kept forcing her to have sex. If the ex had been male this would have been comsidered rape by most readers. It's still rape. Doesn't matter if it's M/F, M/M, F/F, etc. No is still no and forced sex is still rape. I didn't find this romantic at all. The premise of the plot was good and I would have liked the book much better without all the nonconsensual sex.

Great mystery ruined by rape fantasy

great mystery, and if it were just that the rating would be much higher. unfortunately the story is marred as youre forced to watch our main character (Amy) give up all sense of agency any time shes around her ex girlfriend. Capitulating nearly every argument between them and brushing off every horrifying thing her ex does to her.

Leon (the ex) spends the greater part of the story stalking Amy and sending up serious red flags with her unhealthy obsession.

Then chapter Nine happened. it opens up with Leon sexually assaulting Amy. There's no other way to describe that interaction. She is told no and yet continues to molest a pinned Amy until Leon herself is momentarily satisfied. Even then she doesnt step back, she forces Amy to flee by squeezing between Leon and the wall.

At least there's no actual rape right? Wrong. That happens in chapter Seventeen when Leon invites herself into Amy's bed naked and proceeds to force sexual relations despite being told no numerous times and stopping Amys attempt to physically leave the bed.

the mystery is genuinely interesting. Its just dissappointing that the rest of the book is so disgusting.
