Publisher's summary

The author goes deep in description of working for the United States Postal Service.

The only way to truly know what's going on with anything is to simply experience it. The listener is taken on an undercover journey within the Postal Service and is exposed to the trials of the application process, each stage of training, and treated to equal parts of life as a mail carrier, both mundane and manic.

Serving as a mail carrier during a pandemic, a racial crisis uprising, and arguably the most divisive presidential election in history, the listener is taken on a roller-coaster journey with whimsical deviations along the way. If you've ever wandered what it's really like to be a mail carrier, listen on!

True!!"Part timer"no Health Insurance😕10years😕

So true as a "part timer" RCA and CCA for ten years 100% responsible for health insurance. Sometimes not even breaking even, so having to pay post office $$$ to cover family health insurance until my husband could get it through his employer😕

I'm never sure if this work was for me, but when inquiring about possible other jobs in the post office earlier on I was always simply told I was not eligible😕 so I have trudged along🙂
I was often not able to be there for my husband and 4 kids, not being able to plan or have much of a life working Easter Sunday too.

Now as finally a "Regular" employee😕 The main difference is 1. I get to work in just one office, although I have still gone elsewhere a few times if asked, and an office is short. 2. Not required to work Sundays, although I have still worked a couple of times if asked and help needed around the holidays. 3. I was hired at age 40; now, at 52, the body is in pain. I have taken several falls on the job. I still feel like quitting many days. I have had many sleepless nights and stressful, almost mood altering experiences myself.

Job is not all bad, a several good moments too, definitely not for everyone!

I definitely get to do some thinking out by myself all day, sometimes good, sometimes not so good!!

It has been a bit of a lonley existence for me. Alone out there with the mail, often feeling not good enough for the Post Office or being there enough for my family. At times just feeling as if a little closer to death each day😕 I think too about what might be on my grave stone, haha

"The woman we really didn't know but delivered our mail and packages."
"The wife, mom, daughter, sister who would join with us once in a while when not she wasn't working and/or she was able to get herself moving." "Her purpose was to deliver stuff until the end🙏"

Yet again, I am grateful for the solitude and lots of time to think🙂

I did go all the way to the end.

I enjoyed learning what those workers are up against. The storytelling was a bit weak, though.
