Publisher's summary

Gay Children, Straight Parents is authored by sexual orientation therapist Richard Cohen, who lived a homosexual life and then came out straight! Today he has been married to his beautiful wife for 38 years and has three adult children. Over the past 30 years as a psychotherapist, Cohen has helped hundreds of parents, family members, and friends who have same-sex attracted (SSA) loved ones.

This groundbreaking book describes 12 powerful principles to create more loving and intimate relationships within the family and community. You will hear moving testimonies from parents who share their stories of restored relationships as they helped their SSA sons and daughters fulfill their heterosexual potential.

Gay Children, Straight Parents is a gift for family members and friends and for anyone who wishes to understand how to love men and women who experience either unwanted SSA or are living a gay or lesbian life. Clergy and ministry leaders will find this an invaluable resource.

Great

Love this book. Very informative and is just the support I was looking for. My 14 year old son just informed me about his SSA and even though therapists and family have told me to accept it and that he was born that way and that there’s nothing I can do to help him, I’m choosing to fight the battle. This book gives me hope. Thank you Mr. Richard Cohen...

Not what I was looking for..

The book overall is well written and has good stories, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. I was looking for ways that parents can support their gay kids and let them feel free and confident. Should have read the summary and not just buy it by its title.
