very interesting

So as the title states, this is a rather interesting series to pick up. I don't think I have read any other dungeon core series that uses constructs (dolls) as the primary minion type.

Narration-wise, It could have been a bit better especially with male voices. However, since the MCs were both female it can be a mute point. Now off to listen to book 2 so I can find out what that goddess is up to.

Decent Story - for Plus Catalog selection

I enjoyed the story, I will probably pick up book two at some point but wasn't so impressed that I will rush to pick up the second half of this story. The characters are interesting, the torture/gore a bit much. The sexual stuff is pretty minor, nothing that I found offensive, nothing graphic. I will definitely check out other books by this author.

Pretty good story

May not be to all tastes but pretty entertaining if somewhat dark and gritty even for a dungeon core story

not good

I really don't like the minimum word count requirements for audible reviews. . . .

Ruined by torture

I was enjoying the story but it was ruined by the torture. we're supposed to be on this chick's side? She is evil not a survivor.

Stats for padding

I don't mind the stat reading in books until you read the same stats and achievements, flavor text included, every 30 minutes. Along with that the characters feel stilted and more like plot objects then people, there was no time spent on how Lance's changes affected them but the end result of all skipped mental changes still was in the plot.

The narrator wasn't the worst but she sounded like she was recording on a terrible mic, and with her lack of ability to do convincing male voices they tended to blend together.

Interesting Gimmick Ruined By Sexual Content

The main character Azaria, a 14 (15?) year old girl, is constantly subject to sexual situations that make her uncomfortable, as well as several situations with the older Lance being solved with her tits. Several times this book devolved into a thinly veiled exploration of the author's fetishes. Crime drama is a lie. This is an erotica.

Azaria having her memories is interesting, and her interactions with Lance that give Lance her Harvester powers are compelling, but all of this is overshadowed by the unnecessarily abundant sexual content.

I love MWs work, but this isn't his best.

Matthew Peed is normally one of my most loved authors, but this one is a dud. Story is relying on isaki tropes, the characters are unlikable, the narrator is way to bland and unemotional, and the world building only really starts after 5 hours. And the world itself is a dying and hopeless dystopia that came right out of the Sin City comics and movie.

Ah well, nobody is perfect. Please read MW's other stories, they are amazing!
