Publisher's summary

At 43, Holden Barnett is getting along just fine. His job as a pilot keeps him from getting restless, and he’s got a man who doesn’t want promises for the future. One phone call from his estranged sister changes everything. She needs his help, so Holden drops everything and heads to Harmony, a small town in Briar County, which represents everything he’s tried to avoid in life.

Monroe Covington is 45 and happy. He loves his life - running his store, helping at his family’s farm, and spending his days with his best friend, Lindsey, and their son, Wyatt. Sure, half the town likes to forget he’s gay, and he’d love for the queer population to be bigger, but Roe makes do. He misses dating, relationships, and a man to hold at night, but at least he gets new eye candy when Holden, the brother of the woman who’s renting his cabin, shows up.

The attraction is instant, the friendship not far behind, but between Holden’s initial relationship status, family complications, and the two of them wanting different things, they’re a disaster waiting to happen…only it doesn’t feel that way, not with how much time they spend talking, laughing, and eventually, tumbling into bed, a field, or the back of a truck together. The closer they get, the more Holden realizes that just being fine isn’t enough, and Roe begins to see that his life isn’t as complete as he thought. Now, if they could only sort out the rest of it....

Firefly Lane is a small town, strangers-to-friends-to-lovers summer romance with no cheating, mature characters who talk out their problems, like to work with their hands, and have amazing chemistry. Did I mention they watch movies in the company of goats?

Another great!

Ill start but saying how much I absolutely love kale Williams as narrator. He is one of favorites. I jumped to get this book here cause I absolutely loved the Havenwood series!!! And he was the narrator for all of them!! My favorite was Hard Knox omg the best book ever!! Such a great book and griffins place was second favorite those are forever on my repeat list!!! That being said in those 2 books I felt the chemistry and love btween the MCs so well! This book was cute and you get that they fall for each other and fall with them!! I don’t think this is one of my favs but still sweet and lovely!

Settle back and enjoy

Sometimes it’s better to just settle back and enjoy the warmth of a story, without letting details of a literary device get in a guy’s way. Besides, there are plenty of roads people can take, and sometimes a guy might give in when a woman tells him that she wants his baby or wants his child. The warmth of the story overcame that for me, anyway.

Finding Home

I loved seeing these two kind and loving men find a way to love each other. The start out without a plan in mind but we get to see their relationship develop through the story. This is the first book in the series and the author does a good job introducing us to the community. I listened to audio recording and it was very well done.

I want to be Holdens & Monroe's friend .

Let me start off by saying Riley Hart is one of my favorite authors. she always comes through. just like she did with this story. Omgosh, Holden & Monroe story is so good. Their chemistry, and Maturity in this story, wonderful. I want to be friends with them. Kale Williams did a good job narrating and bringing these characters to life. I highly suggest you to listen to this wonderful love story.

Wow

I read Firefly Lane on Kindle and just had to listen to the Audio version for full effect
Kale Williams brought the People of Harmony to life.
Thank You Kale W. for a job well done.
I look forward to the Audio version of Sunday's Best and hopefully Kale is the Narrator.
I most definitely recommend adding this novel to your collection, it's worth the $$ and/or credit.
Happy Listening 🎶 ☺

Such a sweet read!

This was such a low, angst, sweet book. It was exactly what I was looking for. The communication between main characters was fantastic, I hate a miscommunication trope. This was all around a very sweet book, narration was fantastic.

Love the story, but change the narrator

This story had character, love, low angst. It was what I needed. perfect. However , the narrator is not the best fit. It took me going through the first 3 chapters for me to figure out there were 2ale character's story being told. Had to start over. Also had to rewind so many times because I couldn't differentiate who was speaking at any given time. Monotone reading. No inflection change even when a joke is told, someone yelled, or even a female talking. For the next book, please someone else. This almost made me return the book. Enjoyed it otherwise

Satisfying Story Expertly Told

Classic Riley Hart. A solid -yet nuanced- story with minimal angst or off-the-charts drama. I could listen to Riley Hart stories all day for a year - they're intelligent yet quite heartfelt. As always, Kale Williams does an excellent job telling the story - his voice is soothing and perfect. I'll definitely be adding the next "Briar County" book to my library.
