Publisher's summary

John Kelly, former Navy SEAL and Vietnam veteran, is still getting over the accidental death of his wife, when he befriends a young woman with a checkered past. When the past reaches out for her in a particularly horrifying fashion, he vows revenge and sets out to track down the men responsible. At the same time, the Pentagon is readying an operation to rescue a key group of prisoners in a North Vietnamese prisoner-of-war camp. One man knows the terrain around that camp better than anyone: John Kelly.

Kelly has his own mission. The Pentagon wants him for theirs. As Clancy takes us through the twists and turns of Without Remorse, he blends the exceptional realism and authenticity that are his trademarks with intricate plotting, knife-edge suspense, and a remarkable cast of characters.

My favorite

I’ve listened to this 5 times over the past decade. The story is great and the reading is fantastic!

Not His Best, But Worth The Read

Having listened to all of the Clancy books on Audible, I really enjoyed this one. I don't think it is his best, but still an interesting story line with a number of surprises. Clancys detailed descriptions and picture painting is always enjoyable. This book does contain lots of profanity. The "F" word abounds. I woundn't listen to is in traffic with the windows rolled down.
All in all a great listen with a great story. Kept me listening through several hours of heavy traffic.

Great Book

I read the book and had troubles putting it down as I was intrigued of what would happen next. One of the best books I have ever read. I make judgements if I would have the book in my library or not and I would definitely have this book in by library. It is a suspense thriller to keep you on a roller coaster ride. Well worth your money.

The police all sounded like 2 bit characters from 1930s movies. Need to get someone new.

Good story, slow begining

Good story, very slow 1st+ hour, the narrator at times was a bit boring, his military imitation was way off he should have done his homework before narrating: "... aye aye sir, the second 'aye' should sound more like ice..." This is a typical ex-military turned vigilante story, nothing special, very long.

Good story- very disappointing narration

The story was pretty good but this is the most disappointing narration I have heard in an audio book.

good job but...

I think this is a good telling. the voices brought life to the characters and the story was complete. however, i read the book first and was just wanting to revisit the book while driving. the editing cut out a lot of details and humorous side notes. i am disappointed in this reading not being a complete reading but rather than an edited, all be it complete, version.

Good suspensive story, bad narration

Great story. The narrator's female voices were terrible and all sounded the same. some of the male voices sounded the same so it was hard to follow who is supposed to be talking.
