Publisher's summary

Diana Gabaldon's magnificent historical saga, begun with Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber, continues with this New York Times best seller. Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first. Now that Claire knows Jamie survived the slaughter at Culloden, she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. She aches to travel back through time again to find the love of her life, but, in order to do that, she must leave their daughter behind. It has been 20 years since she and Jamie were forced to separate. Can she risk everything, maybe even her life, on a gamble that their love has withstood the long, rigorous test of time?

Diana Gabaldon's powerful, witty, and heroic characters lend themselves well to the rich, melodic narration accorded them by Davina Porter. Under her spell, listeners find themselves transported back through time to exciting, faraway places alive with people they would enjoy knowing.

BRILLIANT, STORY TELLING GENIUS,

What did you love best about Voyager?

Continuing development of main characters, story line that is gripping, suspenseful and interspersed with lively humor

What was one of the most memorable moments of Voyager?

Claire returning through the stones to find Jamie and their subsequent reunion.
Laoghaire turning up at Lallybroch and announcing she was Jaimes wife.

Have you listened to any of Davina Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes to all the Outlander stories, she is extremely talented with accents, male/female voices, nuances and tone. One of the best audible readers I have come across.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The intervention by Claire of the appalling treatment of the slave Ishmail.

Any additional comments?

Wonderful product that has given me hours of enjoyment. I extend my sincere gratitude and will continue to purchase the series. Thank you.

<3 this series V. much!

Would you consider the audio edition of Voyager to be better than the print version?

Save for the cover design, yes. Porter's performance is immersive and enthralling!

What did you like best about this story?

This book (#3) introduces a third POV, Jamie's, which is a refreshing perspective for this rather LARGE story arc.

Have you listened to any of Davina Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Have listened to all other books in this series narrated by Davina Porter and love her work in them all. Have also listneded to her performance of Elizabeth Gaskell's Cranford, which I enjoyed but no where near as much as in the Outlabder series, probably due to Porter's opportunity for extremely distinct and varied character voices and accents in the latter.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Through the stones and across the seas

Any additional comments?

Could the publisher please consider updating the cover art supplied on this recording (#3), on Drums of Autumn (#4) and The Firery Cross (#5) to reflect and correlate with the cover designs supplied for the rest of this series (#1, #2, #6 and #7) for merely aesthetic and OCD purposes? :-)

Repeating Excellence

I echo so many other comments about this series and the narrator whose insights into character create voices and intonations that make the listening excel in appreciation. I just downloaded the 4th book but this time I'm going to try to listen to a different book before I begin "Drums" if only to prolong the fact that at some point there will be an end to the series.
