Diana Gabaldon's powerful, witty, and heroic characters lend themselves well to the rich, melodic narration accorded them by Davina Porter. Under her spell, listeners find themselves transported back through time to exciting, faraway places alive with people they would enjoy knowing.

"Triumphant....Her use of historical detail and truly adult love story confirm Gabaldon as a superior writer." (Publishers Weekly)
wonderful story ...fascinating and full of surprises. highly recommend the series. love the speaker and her delivery.
I love this series. So detailed, and the depth of the world Diana has created is so fantastical. The only issue I have with the Outlander series is the lack of gripping action/mystery. I love the romance, but wish there was more "goose bumps" moments.
The performance is by far the best I have listened to, Harry Potter's Jim Dale notwithstanding. Loved it!
I love the narrator..love the author and love the series. If so far you've felt the same way this installment won't disapoint. Another whole new vibe with the ever evolving cast of characters..some old many new. I highly recommend this wonderful book.
I am enjoying this series so far and plan to continue to the end. I highly recommend it to all who love action, romance, danger and Spence in a large order!!!
my favorite book if I had to choose. Bree finding out about her father finally. Claire finding out her true, soul mate
was still alive. finding all he had to do to survive the outrageous conditions after the horrible war and degradation
and slaughter after the war. also all that he could do to save his family from starving. basically just walking through
life until he went to prison.on and on from one adventure to another until his soulmate finds him and returns to him
to begin again another journey. wow and what a journey it becomes.....
although the Outlander series books are lengthy, they do keep your attention. this had been my favorite in the series so far. I look forward to hearing the next book.
The storyline was justfine, although at times predictable. What really bugged me was that bits of some chapters were skipping as if missing, so one has to guess. For instance, Claire jumped off the ship, was rescued ashore, talking to people and getting to know her surroundings at reverend's and all of a sudden, she wakes up and there's Jamie and Fergus' wedding to Masala.
