Publisher's summary

Diana Gabaldon's magnificent historical saga, begun with Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber, continues with this New York Times best seller. Set in the intriguing Scotland of 200 years ago, the third installment in the romantic adventures of Jamie and Claire is as compelling as the first. Now that Claire knows Jamie survived the slaughter at Culloden, she is faced with the most difficult decision of her life. She aches to travel back through time again to find the love of her life, but, in order to do that, she must leave their daughter behind. It has been 20 years since she and Jamie were forced to separate. Can she risk everything, maybe even her life, on a gamble that their love has withstood the long, rigorous test of time?

Diana Gabaldon's powerful, witty, and heroic characters lend themselves well to the rich, melodic narration accorded them by Davina Porter. Under her spell, listeners find themselves transported back through time to exciting, faraway places alive with people they would enjoy knowing.

Another great Jamie and Claire adventure!

Would you listen to Voyager again? Why?

Oh yes! I love story and characters of the Outlander series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Voyager?

When Claire goes back through the stones and finds Jamie...and he thinks she is a ghost and faints!

What about Davina Porter’s performance did you like?

She is the best! I can see the characters by the change in her voice. NO ONE else could read the stories as she does.

Who was the most memorable character of Voyager and why?

I think young Ian. He shows spunk and yet a sweet gentleness. And he faces great danger.

Any additional comments?

I have all the Outlander series and they are a joy to listen to again and again.

Complete Immersion

Would you consider the audio edition of Voyager to be better than the print version?

I don't know since I haven't read the print version - but based on the audio version I believe that it would be just as enchanting.

What other book might you compare Voyager to and why?

Gone with the Wind - however I think that the series is much more complete but no less epic.

Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?

Jamie Frazier

If you could rename Voyager, what would you call it?

Perhaps Ghost Fish? Artemis might be an appropriate name as well.

Any additional comments?

I love how Diana Gabaldon weaves the plot of the book together and enhances the story with subplot and detail. Just when you think you know what will happen the plot switches course and takes the reader on yet another wonderful journey. I love the series so far and each book answers questions left from the previous installment.

Diana does it again

I didn't think I could like another book in this series as much as I loved Outlander. But this book did the trick. Jamie is as gallant and rugged as ever. I am in love with this series.

Nothing compares...

Rich in history, and love...entertainment that feels like a movie. Diane Gabaldon is a grand storyteller!

Narrator is SUPERB! Making the audiobook so visual and real, thank you.

Read the books in order for the best connections which are neatly woven in the novel.

What a ride!

Would you listen to Voyager again? Why?

Yes I would listen to Voyager again. Because there is just so much to take in and savor I could read it again and again!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Voyager?

The Jamie & Claire reunion, the introduction of Lord John Gray and we learn about both Jamie & Claire's lives during their 20 year separation.

What about Davina Porter’s performance did you like?

I really feel like Davina does her homework. It doesn't sound like someone is reading a book to you. Davina becomes the characters and makes you feel like they are talking to you. For me especially Claire. Davina makes me feel like Claire is talking directly to me. You can hear Claire's (and all of the characters) emotion. You can hear a smile, or a grimace, smell a smell or feel a breeze in Davina's voice. Just superb!

If you could take any character from Voyager out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Jamie. Why?! Listen to it then you tell me!

This book isn't as good as the others, but its ok

this wasn't my favorite book in the series, but it's still worth reading / listening to. one might consider getting The Abridged version, she does tend to go on and on about non-essential details which do not further the storyline.
