Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Mary Janice Davidson has made listeners jump from their seats with her thrilling tales and roll on the floor with her biting humor. Her Undead books, starring sassy, fashion-conscious vampire queen Betsy Taylor, are a unique treat worth sinking your fangs into.

In between running her vampire nightclub and hunting down the perfect pair of shoes, Betsy learns her long-lost half-sister Laura is actually the spawn of Satan. Complicating matters, prophesy states that the devil's offspring and the queen of the vampires are destined to rule the world together. Breaking the news of world domination to her newly discovered sibling might be a bit more difficult than Betsy imagined.

Cute

I liked this series alot. It's fun and shallow, and Betsy has some hilarious lines. The narrator's interpretation of how Sinclair speaks is kind of dumb, but you get used to it. If you enjoyed Southern Vampire Mysteries, you should like this too.

Betsy cracks my up

What did you love best about Undead and Unappreciated?

I love that she's in Minnesota. I'm originally from MN and its awesome when the author puts her in places I know. It just makes it that much cooler. Plus, Betsy is just to darn funny. But, I will say the finale is pretty darn good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

There is something about every character I like. This is definitely an ensemble piece.

Which character – as performed by Nancy Wu – was your favorite?

I swear that Nancy Wu is so good you can hear Sinclair's eyes roll.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. But I did listen to large chunks at a time

Any additional comments?

I loved these books. (you notice I used the past tense) There is a point in the future where I dislike where the author went with the story. I actually stopped reading the books and this was in my top 10 favorites. I am only mentioning this because I think it is only fair you know in the begging that this series takes a crazy turn at book either 9 or 10 I can't remember. By reading other reviews, I am not the only one who feels this way. But, the books up to that point are hilarious. So, reader be warned. You may like the direction it takes later, you may not. I feel better that I let you know.

Wanted more

I was a little disappointed in this book! I guess she is trying to build up to something epic but this story was kinda boring. I want to see how it will all play out so on to the next book.

Good, but...

I liked the others more. This one drags a bit in the middle and seems to be majority for setup, which makes it necessary for the overall story. I did like it, but...

Lighthearted fun

These books are lighthearted fun, a break from work and life in general. The narrator does a great job. I'm glad I have several more to go.

The drama

Another fantastic read. Never thought I’d enjoy having books read to me. But it helps to pass time and is really enjoyable

Scrumptious entertainment

I had never read this author and hadn't even realized there were previous books about Betsy & Sinclair. Now that I know, I plan on going through all the other books from beginning to end. They are lighthearted and fun and love, love, love the way the reader reads the story. I have always loved vampire stories because of Anne Rice, and now have found a fun & whimsical character & storyline in MaryJanice Davidson's books.
