Wickedly warped and hallucinatingly humorous

When you think about how we've arrived as the laughing stock of the nation, about the only thing we Floridians can take collective pride in is that Tim Dorsey finds a way to expose our state's dark lurid underbelly and make it somehow compelling. That's reason enough to read his books. But the way he meticulously collects historical nuggets of Florida obscuria and presents them with intrigue and passion merits picking up his books to see what the hysteria is all about.

Poor Narrator

love Tim Dorsey books, but the narrator is hard to listen to and there are very little differences between characters, making it hard to follow. wish there was another narrator option for the earlier Serge books.

A so-so story, though the narrator did a pretty good job. The references to local Tampa is great fun. But probably won't follow the series.

As funny as 'The Help' and 'Bossy Pants' but in a different way and among the funniest things I've ever heard.

Visiting Tampa Bay Motors for a Suburban. I felt his pain.

revenge with a whoopie cushion.

If you like your humorous revenge psychopathic, this is the story for you. Before there was Dexter, there was Serge, and he isn't fooling anybody. He's your (vastly hyper and annoying) friend for life... unless you're a jerk... then you're dead! In some elaborate and hilarious way. I love the way Dorsey weaves together disparate strands into his typical explosive climaxes. He is a careful plotter and a very clever writer. Love it.

This book was the catalyst for ordering the series

This book is so crazy. Triggerfish lane is an out of body experience housing over the top personalities that create chaos and murder.

this is the 1st book that really starts it all

The books before this one don't really show the team of Serge and Coleman so I consider this to be book one in the surge and Coleman series.
