Publisher's summary

Imagine answering your cell phone one day to a male voice that gives you three minutes to confess your sin. If you don't, the madman, Slater, will blow your car to smithereens. You barely manage to exit heavy traffic and ditch the car when, precisely three minutes later, your car blows sky high. The media and police descend on the scene; your world has just changed forever.

So begins the nightmare that grows with progressively higher stakes. There's another phone call, another riddle. The cycle will not stop until the world discovers the secret of your sin, but you don't have a clue what that sin is. If not for Jennifer, the brilliant FBI agent working to corner Slater, you would indeed go mad.

Good Book

Would you listen to Thr3e again? Why?

Yes, I really enjoyed it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Thr3e?

When Samantha was able to talk him down.

What aspect of Rob Lamont’s performance would you have changed?

He talked to fast. Went from sentence to sentence WAY too fast. I got used to it after a while and was able to enjoy the book, but I did not like his narration style at all.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

What evil lurks?

Great Christian Psychological Thriller!

This story kept getting better! One of the best Christian novels I have ever read! The best part was that it still had a focus that brought you back to God's Word....so good!

Fan for life!

I was most impressed with the plot as well as with the narrator. I?ve read other novels by Dekker, and this is one of his finest. Rob Lamont (narrator) did an eerily fantastic job. I listened to this book at night as I would drive home from work. I could not get from my car to the front door fast enough! I recommend this book (& other books by Dekker) to all.

I liked it

Good story, kept me interested throughout. the only think I wasn't crazy about was the narrator's voice. He is very breathy, nasaly and talks too fast at times when doing multiple people/voice so it was a little confusing at times. otherwise, I enjoyed the story.

Crazy

What an unusual story about GURP. What an amazing group of characters that are here amongst us. Wow

Another great book!

Ted Dekker is one of my favorite writers. He knows how to write a good story without sex, foul language or any other nonsense. I wasn't to happy with the choice of reader though. He read too quickly in some spots and made the story kind of jumbled or rushed. And I've never listened to an audiobook where there was music at the end and beginning of every chapter. What is the about? It was unnecessary. I almost wish I had just read this one myself but I'm glad I finished it. Great book Ted!

Absolutely astounding!

A masterpiece! Narrative, pacing and the story itself, it's all an amazing conjunction. And the morale behind its argument is gracefully depicted, whether you agree with the author or not.

Review

The story itself was a good one with lots of twists, however the narrator was not great. And the random music between some chapters really takes away from the drama of the story.

Disappointing narration

Like others who have reviewed this book, I was disappointed in the narration. I've only been an audiobook listener for a short while, but other narrators seem to have a knack for voicing characters in ways that help the listener know who is speaking. This is especially helpful during quick dialog exchanges when the author doesn't always add the "John said" of "Mary shouted."

Mr. Lamont's narration not only failed to distinguish characters, but as other have noted it was also a little "juicy." I can only attribute that to his being caught up with excitement while reading the story.

The story, however, was very good and that kept me listening. Others have said that the plot wasn't great or that they figured it out early. For me, the twists and turns kept me guessing for a while, and although I had most of it figured out about 2/3 of the way through, the final twist knocked my socks off.

I am currently on the third book of Dekker's Circle trilogy. While the story is fantastic, the narrator is the same. But since I like the story so much, I'm willing to make the sacrifice.
