For almost two years now, Kiera’s boyfriend, Denny, has been everything she’s ever wanted: loving, tender, and endlessly devoted to her. When they head off to a new city to start their lives together - Denny at his dream job and Kiera at a top-notch university - everything seems perfect. Then an unforeseen obligation forces the happy couple apart.
Feeling lonely, confused, and in need of comfort, Kiera turns to an unexpected source - a local rock star named Kellan Kyle. At first, he’s purely a friend she can lean on, but as her loneliness grows, so does their relationship. And then one night everything changes... and none of them will ever be the same.

I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
I was really shocked at how good this book really is. Let me say this first, I totally understand why there are so many bad reviews; however, actually the book is not bad... just Kiera (the main female character) is misunderstood.
Quick summary: Kiera is originally with Denny and they move into Kellan's, Denny's friend, house. Denny goes away on a work trip and Kiera starts an emotional affair with Kellan. Kiera and Denny break up and then Kiera sleeps with Kellan. Denny comes back and Kiera goes back to Denny, but wants to maintain the relationship with Kellan as well.
Ok... now what make this book really shine are the characters. Each one is so unique, even down to the members of Kellan's band. Griffin was just great. Kellan is what you would call a "beautiful disaster" and Kiera is like his poison. Kellan actually falls in love with Kiera and throughout the whole book Kellan is trying to get Kiera to basically choose him. I found myself taking Kellan side on most everything that happen throughout the book. I really liked it when Kellan actually called Kiera a whore. That was awesome... !!!
Now, Kiera, even though I totally agreed with Kellan throughtout the book, I felt Kiera was seriously misunderstood. She was in love with Denny but Kellan was like her soul mate or whatever... so she was torn between two guys. I get it somewhat... She didn't want to hurt Denny, I got that... but Kiera was seriously doing some dirt!!!! I found it funny how she always got away with it and Kellan and Denny loved her even more.
I have to say "The slap heard around the bar" chapter was the best intense love/hate fight chapter I have ever read/listen to.... AWESOMENESS!!!!
This was my first Ross narration. I actually enjoyed her narration. She was very good with speeding up and slowing down as the drama and action built. I thought she really expressed Kiera the best, but not so bad with Kellan either. I like when the narrator actually change their voice to show different characters, and I think Ross did well, especially when Kiera, Kellan and Denny was all in one scene. Switching from Aussie Denny to laid back rocker Kellan to whinny Kiera was done really well.
This is a buy/credit. I would do either one. I would buy if you plan to buy the second one too... this will leave you wanting more. If you plan to wait for credits then, it’s a wait... Well worth it.
I just Love the Allure of a Great Romance...a Pair of Rose Colored Glasses...some Fine Wine, and a Subscription to Audible...
Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens and Narrated by Rebekkah Ross is O.K., but nothing really special. I found it to be extremely monotonous, and longer than necessary. The plot is almost nonexistent. Rebekkah Ross actually did a very good job with the narration, considering the length and repetitive nature of the story.
I am amazed that I stuck it out to the bitter end. I found myself wondering about how much longer it would take to get to the conclusion, which seldom happens to me. I would definitely not listen to this book again, and cannot say that it was/is credit worthy.
Bottom line: Save your credit!
If it was:
B. Kiera had had a spine and brain
C. If it didn't exist at all
The stupid, weak, blushing, sobbing, weak, indecisive and overall infuriating heroine.
Don't read, unless you like weak and annoying heroines that make you want to throttle them...so basically read if you like 50 Shades of Grey without all of the intense sex scenes.
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
Wow, this one put me through the ringer. Kiera is a young woman who has moved far away from her family with Denny. Denny is the only man she has ever been with and he is her first love. They move in with Kellan. Kiera is attracted to Kellan.Something happens (don't want to spoil the story) and she has sex with Kellan and the emotional rollercoaster begins.
Other reviews think badly of Kiera but I see her as an inexperienced young woman who loves Denny with a young girls love, but loves Kellan with a woman’s love and has no idea how to deal with this. In my opinion this is so similar to situations to life. Life isn’t black or white, its shades of grey and everyone deals with things their own way. Kiera is on the verge of becoming a woman and she loves two men.
This is a great listen. I was on the edge of my seat, knowing what she should do, wondering what she would do. I felt so bad for Denny, Kellan and Kiera. It is so similar to life. I felt like it was a credit well spent.
I enjoyed the fire between Kellen and Kiera. I could not stand the constant, never ending waivering, indecisive behavior of Kiera. The way this woman messes with this already broken man shows all of Kiera's worst flaws. She had the love of two brilliant and beautiful men but she didn't deserve either one.
I guess I will listen to the next book in the series but only because I am hoping that Kiera grows up a little in the next book.
If I had been the one reading the book, I would have stopped after the first few chapters.
Thoughtless has a follow up book and its a good thing otherwise my opinion of Ms. Stephens would be that this is an amateur writter at best.
Don't waste your credit on this undeniably frustrating book. The thing is, readers have to like the hero or heroine of a story so they stay interested in the storyline. If we don't think they deserve ANY happily ever after...who cares what their ever after is.
I'm a 31 year old momma to two amazing young men, wife to the greatest guy on earth, a multiple sclerosis survivor and school bus driver!
Ugh what a waste! This book could have been about 6 hours shorter and a lot less immature. How does someone playing two men not know what a mess they're going to cause? And, though I understand this was about college aged students, how much more immature and indecisive can you get? Kierra is definitely "thoughtless"! Not my cup of tea . . .
I can't tell what was worse, the narration or the plot/main character!? I couldn't even get halfway through part 2... Waste of money. Also I'm Australian and one of the main characters in the book is Australian and the narrator puts on the worst Australian accent I have heard- it's offensive.
Definitely not, I haven't even been able to finish this book!
Maybe, I'd hate to discount her completely because of a poorly executed story and characters.
The heroine was so painful and annoying! All she did was whinge! I've never read or listened to a story with a more dependent, needy and selfish heroine! I wanted to slap her!
This is my granddaughter's picture! She is my love.
I usually reserve listening to 3 part stories to those that I know will be excellent. This was way below excellent. The triangle love story in this book really needs help. First, I have never heard of a woman that slept so much, fainted so often, lost her breath and felt her heart beating faster and slower than this woman. The men that loved this woman were "God like perfect" She couldn't decide, she hid her lover, she decided, she changed her mind, she couldn't decide and on and on. This story was a waste of my time!
I cannot freaking believe anyone can be as naïve and stupid kind of person.... as Kiera is and the constant blushing.... ugh- I have to force myself to finish this book- I was up to chapter 10 and then looked and there were 16 more chapters!!!! yes, this book is way too long- sorry this is NOT Beautiful Disaster- even though beautiful disaster is not a great book that you remember years afterwards, it is 90% better than this one- I came to the conclusion that Kiera must be mildly retarded because the things that she is shocked or amazed about are incredible for a 20 year old, like when she is shocked that Kellan gets excited when she is between his thighs and is moaning!!! And what about the part where Kiera just watched as Dennis kicked Kellan mercilessly without doing anything? There are so many parts of this book that I could not believe were happening or the things that were said, or crossed Kiera’s mind. i think the love for these books has to do with the fad of the innocent girl (ala fifty shades) and the bad boy with a painful past, but the other girls are not selfish, egotistical, cheating, liars b....es like Kiera- both Kellan and Denis are wusses - how blind can you be not to noticed the awkward silences and stares between Kiera and Kellan especially after she is not touching him anymore or having sex with him? – this was an experience that I would not like to repeat. Needless to say I am not reading/buying the other two
diminish Kiera's first voice- too much description- to many repetitions, make it shorter- don't use 4 sentences when one can say the same
Yes I was very turned off by the heroines indecision on which lover she was going to choose! The narrator was good but the recording was awful, she sounded like she was in a tunnel and there was a lot of background noise.
I can't think of any.
She spent too much time on the build up of sex scenes and then they weren't very good, not enough detail for me. Just like oh they slept together and she had an orgasm.
Wow, I am in love! I listened to the entire audio book in one weekend and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Do not miss this one.
"Excellent story shame about the person reading it!"
Discovered this book by recommendation and it was worth it! I have this on Kindle and the audible file. The kindle copy is preferable as the lady reading this has no tonal inflection whatsoever!! The story itself is touching, tragic and painful. Kellan is emotionally damaged, Kiera is so immature and undecided that I could quite happily kick her butt to wake her up and Denny is fixed on his career and oblivious to everything and anything going on around him.
It's not a book where the pages are red hot, this is a love story pure and simple. Thoughtless is book one of a trilogy and worth picking up!
1 star awarded as I couldnt see how to give it zero. How on earth can there possibly be a sequel to this completely banal storyline. Absolute rubbish
