Publisher's summary

From David Wong, the writer of the cult sensation John Dies at the End comes another terrifying and hilarious tale of almost Armageddon at the hands of two hopeless heroes.

Warning: You may have a huge, invisible spider living in your skull. THIS IS NOT A METAPHOR.

You will dismiss this as ridiculous fear-mongering. Dismissing things as ridiculous fear-mongering is, in fact, the first symptom of parasitic spider infection - the creature stimulates skepticism, in order to prevent you from seeking a cure. That's just as well, since the "cure" involves learning what a chainsaw tastes like. You can't feel the spider, because it controls your nerve endings. You won't even feel it when it breeds. And it will breed.

Just stay calm, and remember that telling you about the spider situation is not the same as having caused it. I'm just the messenger. Even if I did sort of cause it. Either way, I won't hold it against you if you're upset. I know that's just the spider talking.

"Like an episode of AMC's "The Walking Dead" written by Douglas Adams of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." …Imagine a mentally ill narrator describing the zombie apocalypse while drunk, and the end result is unlike any other book of the genre. Seriously, dude, touch it and read it." –Washington Post

"Kevin Smith's Clerks meets H.P. Lovecraft in this exceptional thriller… David Wong (Jason Pargin) is a fantastic author with a supernatural talent for humor. If you want a poignant, laugh-out-loud funny, disturbing, ridiculous, self-aware, socially relevant horror novel than This Book is Full of Spiders: Seriously Dude, Don't Touch It is the one and only book for you." –SF Signal

Pretty good

Imagine Peter Clines writing for Douglas Adams but they are both 13 years old. This was fun in places and dark in others. I liked the narration.

This book is awesome !

I’m not a big book guy by my girlfriend told me to listen t to John Dies at the End and I was hooked within the first 5 minutes. This book took a few to get used to with the different narrator but it is still as entertaining as the first. Lance Falconer is hilarious.

BEST BOOK EVER

I'm serious!! I've read ( or listened to) 100s of books. This story never faltered. It had "edge of your seat" moments one after another. I highly recommend the whole series. Please make this a movie!!!!

The Author Seemed to have Found his Place

My biggest criticism of JdatE was that it felt like it didn’t really have much focus in the first half. It had a tendency to ramble and meander at random intervals that disrupted the pacing.

That is not the case in this book. This book reads a lot more focused and direct than the last. While I like that, I think the story kind of loses itself somewhere in the middle, transitioning from a man vs monster to a man vs man kind of way that was unsatisfying as the imagery of the spiders was pretty terrifying.

Not only that, but this book doesn’t really feel like too much of a sequel. There is not much of a tie in with what happened in the previous book. I wouldve loved to see more situations involving soy sauce, or more information on Korrok, etc.

Overall, it was a great story with really cool, horrific imagery.

Good lord does this narrator stink

Listen, it's worth it to continue the series but my god is this narrator bad. I mean you'll get used to it, but he really is horrible. His voice for Amy is unbearable and John is just as bad. Thank god the guy from the first book is back in the next book. This guy suckssssssssss. It's still worth the listen if you enjoyed the first. Narrator dude if your reading this, you suck bro and you almost ruined this book.

Spiders everywhere

This is your typical Wong story. It falls in right where John dies at the End left off. Arguably, you could listen to this on its own. But it's so much better after listening to the first story.

David wakes to find a strange spider creature in his bed. As he is fighting it a policeman shows up. The policeman becomes possessed by the creature. This results in a crisis of epic proportions....mostly it's John and David's fault. But it's a wild ride from beginning to end.

This story felt more complete than the first novel. It also explore more complex themes like martyrdom, mob mentality, survival, and most importantly hero vs. villain. An important part of the story is that Dave and John were not exactly right but neither was their opponent. Also, with characters like Anna and Carlos, I found myself wondering who needed protection from whom. Overall I would say that this mad a more fully realized version on JDATE. I enjoyed seeing the return of Soy sauce, Amy, and Molly.

I was sceptical about Nick Podehl but he was an age appropriate choice for narration. He gave me a convincible performance.

Book is amazing, narration is disappointing.

The story is wonderfully weird and it’s a solid sequel. The only criticism I have is from the narration which consists of a white narrator voicing black and hispanic characters in a way that is offensively stereotypical. It’s bad enough that he thought it was okay, but it’s even worse that the producers found no problem with this. And apparently he couldn’t think of any other way to voice a woman than to make her high-pitched, whiney, and pathetic- even though we all know Amy is a badass.
